Do you have any UFO quilt tops that you would like to turn into a finished quilt? Please contact me...I'm here to help you do just that! 🧵

I had the pleasure of completing a UFO for Daisey. This large quilt was originally a kit that she purchased from here in Morton. 🎃
Now Daisy has one less UFO on her to do list! Great job Daisy!

This morning at breakfast, I found this sweet note hidden under my napkin. It was put there by my husband for me to find 🕵️‍♀️. What a sweet surprise (I knew you had a creative side.....somewhere 😉)!

Last Friday, my daughter and I completed her Star Wars pillowcases (Yes, this is my Star Wars Nut daughter!). A few weeks ago, she came with me to purchase fabric to add to a customer’s backing. She disappeared for a short while, but soon returned with 3 bolts of Star Wars fabric asking my help to make pillowcases.

Of course, I agreed and we set-up time to sew between longarming customers quilts. As I think you can tell, she worked hard and did her best. I think she should be very proud of the great job that she did…I know I am!

It was a great pleasure for me to quilt this beauty which was pieced by my sweet friend, Kathy Davenport. We have known each other for quite a few years now. Her friendship is truly a blessing to me. We have traveled an interesting road together, both happy and sad. We also seem to get into interesting situations when we are together…an example; me driving her husband’s new SUV sliding backwards down a snow-covered slippery hill, next to a small lake😳 . Don’t worry, we made it up finally and his new car survived!

As Aunt B was quilting, I had time to reflect on all the joys that great friendships can give us! My wish for you is that you too have friendships like that! Enjoy Kathy’s master piece.

Take a look at the last pic…that’s my lovely photo assistant…Walt with NO social media…husband of 41 years…always willing to help…LOVE of my life!

“Pastel Butterfly Baby Quilt” was created by Julie for a local charity here in Morton. We think the pattern might possibly be Layers of Charm by The Fat Qtr. Shop. Her placement of the pastels makes you want to snuggle up with this quilt! We quilted it with Diamond Magic Hearts Pantograph from My Creative Stitches.

Next in the line-up is the quilt Julie pieced for her granddaughter’s High School Graduation gift. Strip Stacks by GE Design was the pattern that she used. The ladies at The Quilt Corner in Morton helped in picking out some of the fabrics. We chose Modern Garden Rounded Pantograph by My Creative Stitches and a pale lavender thread for the quilting. I’m sure Julie’s granddaughter will cherish this quilt for a long time!

Take a look at the last pic…that’s how much thread that I had left when I completed the quilting 😳

Can you imagine cutting 1,072-2” squares? And piecing them together to create “Confetti”? Melody certainly did just that and did it perfectly! I loved looking at all of the “Confetti” squares as I quilted this beauty. They ranged from florals, to Christmas, to plaids and even patriotic prints. We decided to use Lantern Lights by My Creative Stitches to create some movement in the quilt. Great job Melody!

Our family celebrated two special birthdays this month. My grandson turned 2 (What??? Can’t be so!!!) and my oldest daughter turned…well I don’t think I should tell you the magic number and I’m sure she would agree!

I took a little time to make both of their gifts…counted cross stitch “Star Wars” for my daughter (Star Wars Nut!) and a hooded bath towel for my grandson. Enjoy the pics…especially the cute, sweet and adorable “Froggie”!

Looking through my pictures, I realized that I had not posted any of them for this quilt. Probably because one morning last fall, I went on a walk with my hubby Walter expecting to come back and work on the pictured quilt. But instead spent the day in the ER. While walking I tripped and landed on cement! (see pic). My client, Pam Yant Hardenburg, was so very gracious and patient with me as I healed and completed the quilt. There were a few blocks that were in need of some repair which was done first, then quilted, then binding was added. The quilt was pieced by Pam’s SIL, Kay, who has passed on. I know that this quilt has special memories for her and it now has special memories for me also!

What a blessing it was to celebrate our grandson’s 1st birthday last weekend! It was so much fun! He definitely loved having his family around and, of course, the gifts! I decided that “Nana” would make him a keepsake quilt and this was the finished quilt. I hope he will enjoy it in the years to come!

Melody’s “No Diamonds in the Sky” Quilt is just gorgeous! Her choice of batiks and placement of colors is wonderful. We used “Raindrops on Water” pantograph from Three Sisters Quilt to create movement throughout it. She started this beautiful quilt at a retreat in 2011 and completed it in 2020.

The ladies of the Sewing Fellowship Group Grace Church - Morton, IL always makes great use of the fabrics that are donated to them. They construct bibs, burp clothes, and baby quilts. On occasion, I receive the honor of quilting for them as I did here!

Melody made great use of her fabric scraps in this adorable “I Spy” baby quilt ("I Spy" by Kelly Corbridge)! In case you might not know, I Spy Quilts are quilts created with pictorial or novelty quilting fabrics printed with objects that might not be obvious from a distance but can be identified with an up close look at the quilt.

This paper pieced "Chinese New Year" pattern by Patterns by Annie was sewn by my client Melody. Her choice of a black background with this gorgeous batik reminds me of a beautiful sunset! We chose Quilter's Dream Poly Select in black. Isacord thread, Coffee Bean, was used so that the quilting would hide when on the batik fabric and show slightly on the black.
