Cool science news from last week. Pink Floyd was played to study participants with electrodes implanted in their brains. Scientists were then able to playback the neuron firing pattern with recognizable recreation of the song. It kinda sounds like a late 90s low res mp3 downloaded from limewire. Super cool tech that will in the short term help the deaf and hard of hearing but in the long term allow a musician to literally play the music they hear in their head.

Researchers, studying which parts of the brain are responsible for processing elements of music, played a Pink Floyd song to a group of patients with electrodes implanted in their brains.

On this day in 1964, John Coltrane recorded his album A Love Supreme at Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. He was joined by McCoy Tyner on Piano, Jimmy Garrison on Bass, and Elvin Jones on Drums. Rudy Van Gelder engineered and Bob Thiele produced.
