Alright everyone now is the time to make sure your prepared for the cold artic air thats on its way Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday looks to be the coldest days. The high temps will be reaching just right at frezzing or a little over it, the low temps will be in the lower teens around 15-18°F not factoring in wind chills. Also theres been a ton of hype about a winter storm thats going to bring a ton of snow to the south, it looks like its a possibility but its not a high one as of now since its many hours out. Once more data is collected and we get closer to the time its expected i will try my best to get a forecast. I will keep everyone updated as time goes on and also don’t get your hopes up right now because the snow chances for now are low however the cold air is going to affect us no matter whats falling from the sky so stay warm stay safe and stay happy everyone!!!

The City of Morganton has had a Human Relations Commission (HRC) since 1993? The HRC collaborates to foster an open community by
• Promoting understanding of human relations;
• Investigating and studying problems, complaints, and specific situations, and
• Making recommendations to the City to facilitate orderly change to solve issues of oppression, discrimination, and injustice.

The group is chartered to have 12-16 members who are appointed by the mayor. Among the members, there are seats reserved for students from local high schools. We’ve been blessed to have the following students from their respective schools - all of whom are graduating this year.
• Freedom High School: Malik Harris
• Patton High School: Nicholas Parlier
• NCSSM: Christopher Pedro
• NCSD: (Vacant)

If you, or someone you know, is a student at one of these schools and has a passion for justice and equity, bringing people together instead of dividing, please read the information on this website and reach out to their school guidance counselor. Side note: This is a huge positive for anyone looking to attend college.
