Lots of sunshine and a gradual warm up can be expected today through Monday. High temperatures by Saturday will already be a little above normal, while overnight lows will still be a little below normal. Small chances of light rain showers return Monday night into Tuesday with the passage of a weak cold front.

We’ve had some trouble this election cycle with mail-in ballots. We’re sending them out, within a day of receiving the request, and voters are calling us several days later saying they have yet to receive them. It’s definitely more than normal. Voters are frustrated and we’re frustrated. We’re doing our best to collaborate with our local postmasters here in UC, but I’m learning the logistical roller coaster ride that some of these ballots are taking before they reach the voter, seem to be out of their hands as well.

With that being said, if you’ve made a request for a mail-in ballot and have yet to receive it, hold tight. For now. If, however, you have still not received it after the mail runs on October 22nd, CALL US!

If, and when you do receive it, because of the issues we’ve been having, I would highly encourage you to ask a trusted friend or family member to drop it off in the secure drop box located inside the courthouse (right outside of my office) rather than send it back through the mail.

Reminder: we MUST have it by 6pm, Election night (November 5th) to be able to process it, for it to count.

Well another successful city clean up!!! Multiple loads delivered to the dumpsters. Got so much dumped they had to shut us down a little early!!! Thanks to all the volunteers for the amazing job. This was by far the best picture of the day!!!
