Deputies and first responders are on the scene of a single vehicle crash and a two-vehicle crash on Highway 90 West in the construction area.

Traffic is being diverted onto Hwy 3211 at this time.

Single-vehicle crash on LA 182 at Parro Lane in Berwick. Motorist ran off the road into an embankment subsequently striking a utility pole. No injuries reported. No lane blockage.

The St. Mary Parish Water & Sewer Commission #4 in Charenton has experienced problems with the water supply system due to a broken hydrant on the Chitimacha Reservation.

Therefore, as a precaution, the St. Mary Parish Water & Sewer Commission #4 is issuing a BOIL ADVISORY effective immediately for the following areas:
Chitimacha Reservation Only

This BOIL ADVISORY is to remain in effect until rescinded by the St. Mary Parish Water & Sewer Commission #4.
It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, rinsing of food or using it for food preparation by following the procedure below:
Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.)

The St. Mary Parish Water & Sewer Commission #4 will rescind the advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals – Office of Public Health that additional water samples collected have shown the water to be safe.

From DOTO: Sterling Bridge over the Bayou Teche on La. 322 will be closed effective immediately through Saturday, March 1, 2025, weather permitting.

This closure is necessary to allow maintenance crews to perform repair work on the bridge deck.

Emergency vehicles will not have access through the area.

The detour will consist of La. 322, La. 87, La. 3069, and La. 182.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
