MULTIPLE SCHOOL DELAYS: Due to snow on roads in the south eastern part of the district, as well as extremely cold temperatures in the morning, Mooresville Graded School District has made the decision to start school on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. A 2-hour delay means the school day will start two hours after the normal start time and buses will pick up students two hours after their normal pick up time. Dismissal will be at the normal time tomorrow afternoon.

Pine Lake Preparatory will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22nd. Although snowfall is expected to remain light and taper off over the next hour, falling temperatures overnight may result in icy patches on roads and around campus. They will reassess the road conditions early tomorrow morning and provide an update by 7:30 am. Should a decision be made to shift to an inclement weather day (no school), updates will be shared through email, phone call, and social media platforms. Please check email for additional details and stay warm PLP!

A freight train passed through downtown Mooresville yesterday, a reminder of the town's historical connection to rail transport. The long line of cars, likely carrying goods for local businesses or industries, slowly navigated the tracks. The train's passage, with the rhythmic clacking of wheels and the powerful engines, provided a brief but noticeable interruption to the usual bustle of the downtown area. (Turn up the sound.)
