Our student's recent work is now published on the NBCU Academy website! We recently traveled to Arizona and reported from the border. It was an emotional story - particularly for our students who are the children of recent immigrants.

I'm very proud of our young journalists!

Happy 95th Birthday to Eva Schloss! And, Happy Mother’s Day to her.

Eva is the subject of my latest film Eva’s Promise. She has lived an extraordinary life. She survived the Holocaust and spent much of her life educating people all over the world to fight hate and prejudice.

When I first met her she sat me and my producing partner Susan Kerner down and told us of others who promised to help her tell her story and failed her. She told us “Get it done - and hurry!” And with the help of my sons Ryan and Justin, we did just that. The film is now airing on PBS stations across the country thanks to American Public Television.

They did a terrific job covering important topics including the border and the migration crisis, water issues in southwest, homelessness, Native American history, the coming Presidential election, MLB spring training and more! It’s good journalism and I’m very proud of these young storytellers.

Eva’s Promise premieres TONIGHT on Kentucky Educational Television at 9pm!

It’s the start of a run on PBS stations across the nation. It’s being distributed by American Public Televison.

It’s the end of a 2 and a half year project about a Holocaust survivor honoring a promise she made to her brother on a train to Auschwitz death camp. Many thanks to co-producer Susan Kerner, editor Ryan McCarthy, cameramen Justin McCarthy and Ken Spooner and others including Kathleen Reddington.
