Filming a Q&A for SCL (Society of Composers and Lyricists) at the Disney Lot in Burbank. This is probably the third or fourth time we do filming here, but I am never tired of the artifacts displayed in the lobby of the theater, especially peeking at the details of the multiplane camera patented in 1940 by Disney. Other artifacts include the cubes used in the 1964 production of Mary Poppins, and an invasion to the premiere of the movie at the Chinese Theater.

There is also this old picture of Walt Disney and his brother Roy filming “Alice’s Spooky Adventure” (1924). Such humble beginnings! It reminds me of Paco and I at work!

We had a great time filming In the Spotlight Reels again at the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce Networking Breakfast and met Jenny Lin, assistant Director of Development at Maryvale. This organization was founded in 1856 by the Daughters of Charity. They are brand new members of the Chamber. She shared how their mission as a non-profit is to use an individualized approach to change the trajectory of the lives of children and families. The monthly event was held at sponsor Max's Mexican Cuisine and she said the food was delicious, as always.

We had a great time again at the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce Networking Breakfast filming In the Spotlight Reels and met Dave Noriega, owner of Dave's Auto and Truck Dismantling in Duarte. He told us how, in addition to dismantling old, wrecked, and abandoned vehicles in preparation for use in new ones, his company also sells new and reused parts. He commented on the delicious breakfast provided by sponsor Max's Mexican Cuisine

Nice program at the SCL Holiday Dinner tonight at the Skirball Cultural Center. A Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Danny Elfman. The composers of “Good Afternoon” (Justin Paul & Benjamin Spasek) from Spirited performed a special SCL-ish parody of their song, and that was hilarious!

We were lucky to interview them before the program, along with other big names of composers scoring the films that are just being released!

Last screening for the week! Back at Disney Studios for "The Banshees of Inisherin", directed by Martin McDonagh (In Bruges, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, …). Q&A with composer Carter Burwell (Fargo, Carol, …); interview conducted by Jon Burlingame (Variety).

I have a personal connection with Martin McDonagh as I directed the play "The Lieutenant of Inishmore" some 5 or 6 years ago.

After watching the movie, I had to have a pint of Guinness and a shot of Jameson!
