Today we followed Fishing for the Heart for their first President's Day outing on Basses Bay. The kids learned how to ice fish early in the morning and then got to put what they learned into action. Big smiles all around!

This buck is one I had an encounter with a couple of seasons ago in Pike County IL during early December. Just at the boardline shooter. I had him at 40 yards at one point. After reviewing the footage, you can see that this guy looks like he went a few rounds with Tyson. Hair missing all over his back and a left eye injury as well. You'll see at the end of the video that the second rut was kicking in and he was still scent checking.

The 2019 IL youth season with Shot For Hope and Gunnar’s first ever gun hunt is in the books! What a weekend! The first morning sit Gunnar saw a nice 140” 10 pointer but could not get on him fast enough and is learning how fast you need to be sometimes. He gave it until Sunday morning after 8:30 and decided if he saw a big doe he was going to take her. At 8:31 out came a big doe like it was scripted. He was so proud making a great shot from 80 yards out.
The outfitter SHOT for HOPE had been going to for many many years is Buckchasers in Pike Co IL and every year they put on a fishing contest for all the kids and the winner gets a free hunt the following year. Fishing was tough and Gunnar managed to edge everyone out with a small bass. So needless to say we will be back next year!!
Braden, this years Shot For Hope recipient had just gone through a major surgery only 6 months ago having part of his liver replaced. Unfortunately him and his Dad were not seeing many bigger bucks until the last day and the last sit. Out came a beautiful 9 pointer. Braden made an awesome shot and was able to get himself a trophy of a lifetime! Thank you to all those at Buckchasers, Chris Bishop for making yet another great hunt come together!!

Going on 8 years now, NOP has had the privilege of filming for SHOT for HOPE. Yesterday we traveled up to Green Bay to film a shopping spree at Cabela's for the 2019 recipient Brayden Auten. We roamed the store buying everything he will need for his youth hunt down in Illinois at Buckchasers in Pike County IL. Follow along with us as we capture yet another incredible journey.
