Although I had been worried about the outcome since this match was announced, I still maintained hope that I would not have to prepare a statement of any sort...

MLW Con-Fusion prides itself with being a safe space for listeners of all walks of life, and a supporter of LGBTQ+ and victims of abuse. This is a topic that does not come up much in a standard wrestling podcast, and the Con is no exception. MLW Con-Fusion has also been a supporter of MLW throughout its ups and downs since the podcast's inception in 2019.

However, MLW "completed the story" by placing the Heavyweight Champion on Matt Riddle. Matt Riddle, who has allegations floating of sexual assault and domestic violence swirling around him. Accusations that were never adequately addressed, nor acknowledged. MLW is aware of these allegations and commentary even made light of these allegations during Riddle's debut with the company.

There are a number of talents who could hold the mantel for MLW who also have clean records, whether it is Tom Lawlor, Donovan Dijak, or Mads Krügger. Instead, MLW made the statement that they don't care about the toxic elements of professional wrestling as long as they wrestle good, bro.

MLW Con-Fusion is disappointed with this message presented by MLW and its upper management. Wrestling cannot thrive without the guarantee of safety and making a person with multiple unaddressed allegations the face of the company, shows that a safe environment is not a priority.

With this in mind, MLW Con-Fusion is at a crossroads, one that may noted be fully traversed in one go. At present time, the decision has been made that effective immediately:

1. MLW Con-Fusion will no longer review any show which Matt Riddle is advertised as competing.

2. Any merchandise sales accrued during the current MLW Championship reign will be donated to local women's charities, with emphasis placed on charities for victims of violence.

3. MLW Con-Fusion will begin the process of a soft rebrand, distancing itself from MLW.
These are small steps to try to create a safe, inclusive environment for all wrestling fans. To those who will be with me through the ride, thank you.
