Father's Day is going to be scorcher! We have highs in the upper 90s to low triple digits!
Due to temperatures being so high we have a heat advisory in effect starting Sunday at noon and lasting until 7pm.
We also have Red Flag Warning in effect from noon Sunday until 8pm due to high temps, low humidity, and winds with gust up to 40mph.

With tomorrow being Father's day, I know a lot events will be happening. It is best to keep those inside, if you must go outdoors it is best to do it in the morning before heat really starts to kick in around noon. If you are outside tomorrow make sure to HYDRATE!

If you are in area with a Red Flag, please do all your cooking inside, I know grilling is popular for father's day but if a fire starts it could grow and spread rapidly!

Stay Safe!

July is off to a much needed wet start! We will have showers and thunderstorms make its way through the area tonight and Sunday. As we head into Sunday afternoon and evening those showers become more isolated and we'll dry out by Sunday night.

The system that will making its way through the area is a slow moving system, so we have the potential to collect some much needed liquid gold. Our southern and eastern hometowns will see the most with some areas receiving possibly +2" of rain.

We do need the rain as our drought has gotten worse. Most of us are at level 3 out of 5 (severe drought) while few are at a level 2 out of 5 (moderately dry)

We will have some much needed liquid gold makes its way into the area early Sunday morning and last until Monday morning. We will not experience an all day rain event for your Father's Day, these showers will be on and off, so it will not completely affect your outdoor plans if you have any.

The showers and thunderstorms are much needed because our drought conditions have become worse, majority of us are at level 2 out 5 and some of us are still in a level 1 out 5 or even worse level 3 out of 5.

We have had above normal temperatures so far for the entire year so far and with June getting off to a hot start I wouldn't be surprised if that trend continued!

Precipitation wise we are starting to fall behind and are in deficit with really no possible rain chances until next weekend, June is on track to have below normal rainfall amounts 😬
