Owner/operator: Matt Hughes Sonic Acres recording facility was designed and built from the ground up utilizing modern soundproofing and construction techniques.

Located amidst the rolling hills of rural Berks County, PA, a professional music/audio recording & video production studio dedicated to nurturing creative inspiration in a uniquely engaging space! The open-concept design principle prioritizes a “connected” floor plan with elevated ceilings, intuitive door-less flow between most rooms, an abundance of natural sunlight, and interior decoration that

imparts a fun and unique vibe. Special consideration was given to design the control room and main live room as one large space to allow for a more engaging atmosphere for artists and producers/engineers to collaborate. A soundproof isolation room is also available. The artist lounge area is equipped with an entertainment system, fireplace, kitchen and full bathroom with shower. The control room was engineered and tuned for optimal acoustical response. Hybrid digital/analog mixing and summing capabilities via a modified 32-channel Toft console. Top of the line outboard equipment and microphones from API, Neve, Neumann, Vintech, Manley, TC Electronics, and more. Endless guitar tone options with a collection of gear from Orange, Marshall, Egnater, Mesa-Boogie, etc. Sonic Acres facility is available for all types of recording, production, mixing/mastering and live streaming.

The new preamp lineup here at Sonic Acres is the cat’s meow! 😻 8-channels of Warm WA-412 and 8-channels of SSL PureDrive…

➡️ The WA-412 has that PUNCH that sounds great on everything but especially drums, bass and guitar. (I owned the API 512C by the way.😉)

➡️ The SSL PureDrive has crystal clear cleans but selectable ‘drive’ for symmetrical and asymmetrical harmonic distortion tones. I enjoy the transparent option to retain that natural uncolored sound on instruments like acoustic guitar, strings, mandolin, upright bass, etc. But this one can also get wonderfully NASTY!

Looking for a space for a band to rehearse next week all day 11/6 and 11/7. We have all PA gear and back line, but need a decent sized space where we can crank a mid sized system from 12-7 each day. Preferably in the Philadelphia area, but open to other nearby areas.
