Here comes the cold! Temperatures Sunday night will drop into the low 20s all the way to the coast and upper teens well inland. Wind Chills will be dangerous for this area, dropping into the low teens areawide.

A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect Sunday night into Monday AM. One thing to note, we are getting close to our Extreme Cold Warning criteria. Technically, the criteria are higher (15 degrees or below) for the coast than inland (10 or below) due to the differing levels of acclimation to cold temperatures in these areas.

With higher criteria at the coast, this might result in coastal areas meeting Extreme Cold Criteria before inland areas as winds will remain higher at the coast. We will continue to monitor this, but the message stays the same. Layer up, limit time outside, and check on one another.

All scheduled entertainment performances and the Christmas Extravaganza Movie Night planned for Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the Old Historic Whistler Bike Trail have been canceled due to the forecast of extreme cold weather.

Temperatures are expected to drop to levels that would make outdoor performances and the planned movie screening unsafe and uncomfortable for attendees, performers, and event staff. Out of an abundance of caution, the City is modifying the schedule to ensure the well-being of everyone involved.

Although the entertainment area and movie night featuring Home Alone will not take place, the Whistler Wonderland Christmas light trail will remain open for visitors who would still like to walk through and enjoy the festive displays.
