God is the artist who holds the canvas of your life. Will you give Him the paintbrush? Will you allow His masterpiece to unfold? He can be trusted with every intricate detail. And those parts that appear to be messy and lack design? He’s just not finished with them yet 🩷.

I don’t know about you, but for me, paper is still where it’s at! I guess I’m a little behind the times, but I still love paper calendars. I like to have a physical copy that I can write on, put up on my fridge, and hang in my cubicle at work to glance at quickly without having to pull up yet another thing on my phone.

I spent the afternoon editing a few imperfections on this printable monthly calendar. I love expressing myself creatively, so every now and then I spend some time creating functional resources, like this calendar, for my everyday life. In addition to keeping track of important dates and events, this calendar is one I can use to record key prayer topics and Scriptures I want to focus on each day.

The longer I live, I realize how much better God’s ways are than my own. It’s so freeing when we realize we don’t have to have it all figured out for ourselves. He’s always working behind the scenes in ways we can’t imagine 🩷.

Trust the “new thing” God wants to do in you!

Growing up, I remember hearing the options for women who wanted to serve God in ministry. You had three choices: work as a church secretary, become a Christian school teacher, or marry a pastor or missionary. Ministry felt like a strict club that only a select few got to be a part of.

Now? I’ve learned that ministry begins right where we are. Whether we’re a full-time mom, a college student, a cashier at the local grocery store, or a custodian at the office building down the road, our ministry is right there in the everyday moments of life.

Sometimes ministry looks like hosting a Bible study with neighborhood friends. Other times, it looks like a listening ear and a conversation over coffee. Sometimes it looks like taking a mission trip on the other side of the world. Other times, it looks like having someone over for dinner to reflect Christlike hospitality. Sometimes ministry looks like directly telling someone about Jesus. Other times, it looks like a friendly smile and “hello” to that person waiting in line with you at the store. Sometimes it looks like praying for someone right then and there. Other times, it looks like telling someone you’re there for them as they share their struggles with you during your workout at the gym.

Wherever God has you right now, that’s your ministry! The things we do to build relationships with those around us are the doors God may open for us to tell them about Jesus. Start by caring. Start by listening. Start by loving. Never underestimate the incredible ways God can use you right where you are 🩷.

Are you tired? Exhausted? Hungry for something more? Thirsty for something - anything - to satisfy? What “desert” are you walking through? Is it the “desert” of a troubled relationship? A health battle that won’t seem to end? Debilitating grief from the loss of someone you love? Or perhaps it’s the “desert” of financial struggles, a job situation that no longer brings you joy, or the haunting reminders of failure after failure in your past.

God sends us a comforting message through the Psalms. A message of hope when we are at our wit’s end. A promising expression of his limitless love.

That He can turn our “desert” into “pools” and “springs” of water. He can give us a safe haven of rest - a place to dwell. A place to flourish. A place of true refreshment and renewal.

Will you run to Him? Will you dwell in “that place”? He desires to give you joy and purpose again. He longs to care for you there 🩷.

I’ve learned that the times when I’m the most vulnerable are the times when I’m also able to develop the most meaningful, life-giving relationships. Authenticity allows others to be able to connect with us. It shows them that we are real. That we struggle too. That we don’t have it all together. Vulnerability helps us connect with others over shared life experiences. As we share our stories, it’s often where others can find hope in theirs. Loving others as Jesus loves means we have to break down the walls and just be real. It’s where others can know us, and where they can find Him too 🩷.

How many times do we stress and fret over what we’re meant to do in this life? The sleepless nights wondering why on earth we’re even here. The hours spent evaluating our skills trying to decipher who we’re made to be. And the exhausting days striving to build a name for ourselves in hopes that we’ll be found worthy to make others proud.

Matthew 5 gives us the simplicity of purpose our hearts have been longing for.

We are here to be a light ☀️.

It really is that simple.

Have you ever paused to think about how totally awesome that is???

Jesus calls us to be a light for Him. To carry His hope to a world that is craving something more. To share His love with those who are longing just to be seen and known…to be valued. To let them know that they matter and that there is abundant life available to all.

It’s a big calling, but it’s clearly defined. There’s no wondering, questioning, nor doubts. We have a purpose right here in this time and place!

Every day we have a choice to love.

Love can make all the difference in someone’s day.

Live more. Love more.

John 10:10 says that Jesus came so that we may have life and have it abundantly.

What is abundant life? Abundant life means living life in its abounding fullness of joy and strength. It means living life to the full and not just merely existing.

Abundant life is what Jesus desires to give each one of us. Perhaps you’ve already tried religion. Maybe it let you down. Maybe it even hurt you. Perhaps even a lot. I get it - because it did me too. I encourage you to try Jesus instead.

Religion is about rules and rituals. It’s about striving to reach God by checking off a list of “holy to-dos.” Jesus is about love, and it’s a love that reaches you right where you are - No matter who you are. No matter what you’ve done. No matter where you thought you were going.

There’s something so much different when you invite Jesus to do life with you. It’s hard to explain just with simple words. You have to experience it for yourself 💕.

If you asked me a few years ago if I ever thought life would be beautiful again, there’s about a 99% chance I would have said no.

I was struggling. I was REALLY struggling. I was feeling every emotion in the book. I had hit an all-time low. My mom’s autoimmune disease had suddenly presented itself in the worst of forms. In about six short weeks, I watched the strong woman who had brought me into this world - the one who loved me unconditionally who was my very best friend - quickly fade away and ultimately go “home” to heaven. At the same time, I was struggling in a career that took every ounce of strength I could muster. Not to mention, I was not in a healthy place relationship-wise.

Life was crazy. It was confusing. It was hard and messy. And if I’m honest, there were moments I really didn’t want to keep on going.

But there was a God who saw me. There was One who met me at my weakest. There was a Light that met me in my darkness. And there was a Hope that wouldn’t let me go.

That God carried me through. He showed me that the valleys of this life are not the end. He showed me that the bad doesn’t negate all the good. He showed me that there’s a joy that goes deeper than my circumstances. And he showed me there’s a love that won’t ever let me go.

If He can do that for me, He can do it for you too 🩷 Life may be crazy, confusing, hard, and messy….

But, friend, it’s also truly beautiful.
Don’t just let it pass you by 🩷.

“Going through life” means going through the motions. It means plugging along just to get through the day. To get it done. To make it to 5 pm when you can leave behind the work day. To get through the chores or check the next thing off your list. To wake up the next day and do it all over again…

“Living life” means waking up and seeing the new day - another day of life - as the true gift that it is. It means pausing to find blessings in the ordinary and enjoying the journey rather than just trying to reach the destination. It means making time for things that matter - things that bring you pure, simple joy, even when your to-do list lingers undone. It means loving the moments God gives you, even when imperfect, messy, and maybe even a ‘lil bit crazy. For it’s in those moments that memories are made, passions are discovered, and true purpose can be found.

This is a lesson God is teaching me.

We only get one life. Let’s live life as MORE 🩷
