Always a pleasure to have a Steinway model D at the Terrarium. Steinway D’s were introduced in 1884 and have set the standard for concert grands since. This one is known as “219” and lived at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis until last year.

We recently upgraded our A/D interface. The Burl analog to digital conversion is the the best sounding converter on the market, hands down. We also added the new BDA4M input card. This up’s our a/d interface and makes everything sound better.

The Terrarium is celebrating its 30th anniversary this August. When I first signed that 4 year lease in August 1992 at what is now the TractorWorks building on 800 Washington Ave, I wondered what the studio would be like and who I’d be at the end of the lease… I had no concept of what 30 years would bring. I am so grateful for all the good times with friends, family, clients and our Minnesota music community, this would never have been possible without YOU, thank you so, so much!

There’s no better way to confirm my belief in these Genelec 8351Bs than to buy another set for our B room. Transducers are the ins and outs of recording, that said microphones “in” and speakers “out”. These 8351Bs are the tools that help get the job done, very, very well.

Game changing, mind blowing, and humbling. It makes sense that the same company who first helped me make great sounding mixes with the 1030A’s and 1092A sub would continue to evolve and make the concentric mid/tweeter speaker, Genelec The Ones. These Genelec 8351B’s are the most important piece of gear I’ve bought in the last quarter century.
