Amber Kirkeby has been passionate about music since she was young, writing poetry and melodies since she can remember. She started to go by DJ Kirkabee after graduating college at the University of Minnesota. During her time in the dance program at the U of M is when she re-sparked her passion for creating and mixing music. Her senior project was called ‘How music affects people” and included rese

arch from Oliver Sacks’s book, Musicophilia, Tales of Music and the Brain. DJ Kirkabee has worked at Minneapolis spots such as: Ginger Hop, The Loon, and Target Center. She’s inspired by many styles of music including and not limited to: Hip Hop, Oldies, House, Funk and R&B. As a dancer herself, she knows the kind of music that will get people movin’ & groovin’.
