In more than 35 years of working with tape, these are the worst splices I’ve ever seen. Scotch tape on BOTH sides! Can’t play it this way cuz it’s ozzing sticky gunk. And even if that weren’t the case, it creates a loss of contact with the head, not to mention it doesn’t fit through the guides. Tried to take it apart to fix it but it’s an impossibly gummy mess.

The good news: there is a safety tape with no splices! Saved by the safety!
