Our hearts are broken by the loss of lives, homes and possessions in the recent fires in the Los Angeles area. We know many in the disc community have lost so much. Starting today Discovering the World will be a location where you can donate DISC GOLF related items such as discs, bags, carts, towels, etc. that will then be distributed to disc golf community members who have lost their possessions. The distribution of these items will be handled by the Oak Grove Disc Golf Club. ❤️ Oak Grove Disc Golf Club

Please do NOT drop off other items such as clothing, hygiene items, or anything outside of disc related items. There are some amazing community partners handling the collection and distribution of these items.

Also, please only drop off donation items during our open hours which are Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm and Saturday-Sunday 10 am to 5 pm.

Thank you in advance for any contributions! Discovering the World will also be contribution gift certificates to the disc community who have lost their possessions so they can come and pick out their favorites all over again. We look forward to helping these members of our community get back to the joy of disc sports once they are ready. 🫶🏼

🐝 🌸 Today Missy Davey participated at the 3rd annual Pollinator Party Justin Trails Resort Log Cabins & Llamas by reading Rusty Bumble: A Bee’s Story.

The Prairie Enthusiasts were also there to take us on a pollinator walk.

SUPER EXCITED for the 3rd Annual Pollinator Party - All ages are welcome for this free, fun & educational event from 1:00 - 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 23rd at Justin Trails Resort 7452 Kathryn Avenue, 8 miles south of Sparta Wisconsin!

During the 1st half, Skye Bruce & Jess Gambel will give short presentations about how we can help and protect pollinators. Attendees will receive native seeds from Prairie Moon Nursery Prairie Moon Nursery.

Kiddos can enjoy arts & crafts, a scavenger hunt, and children’s author Missy Davey will read from her book “Rusty Patch a Bee’s Story”

During the 2nd half, we will all go for a plant/insect walk led by Skye Bruce & Jess Gambel. SUPER FUN & educational too!

1 of every 3 bites of food are the result of pollinators.
