The Starlight Serenade on KFAI turns 3 today! 🎉
I took this photo sometime during my first few months on the air in 2021. As you can see, the bags under my eyes were screaming for help...back then I was serenading you live from 2-4 a.m. and I hadn't quite figured out a good sleep schedule yet (spoiler alert...I never did figure it out, but was beyond stoked to move my show up to midnight after the first year!)
In 3 years we've played everything from local to global, 1920s to 2020s, the funkiest of funk, deep cuts from classic crooners, GRAMMY nominees, Bandcamp discoveries and so much more. We've had listeners from Minnesota to California, Massachusetts to New York and beyond.
Being the only radio show in the Twin Cities dedicated to the vocal jazz scene has been an absolute pleasure, and I want to extend my deep gratitude to all of you listeners for tuning in. We'll be sure to celebrate in style this Thursday! 😎
