For her Gold Award, Rebecca held a Fairy Forest Festival and Scavenger Hunt at Centennial Gardens in Floral Park. She addressed the limited number of visitors to the park and brought awareness by creating these events. Rebecca organized volunteers and twelve stations in the gardens that people could explore with over 400 participants. The scavenger hunt was created to show different parts of the garden and include information about various birds. Her project is sustainable because the Fairy Forest Festival will continue to be held every year. The scavenger hunt QR code is posted at the front gate of Centennial Gardens. The Stewart Manor Fire Department is excited to be hosting our 25th annual 4th of July Parade and BBQ! The parade will kick off at 10:30AM on July 4th and will following our traditional route through the village. Join us in the municipal parking lot on the corner of Covert Ave and Chester Ave after the parade for food, t-shirts, cash and prize raffles, and entertainment!

Please note the following information regarding details and guidelines for the parade:

SAFETY GUIDELINES: Please follow these guidelines so everyone has a safe and fun Fourth of July: 1. Act responsibly 2. Do NOT throw water balloons at police officers, military, or elderly 3. Water balloon throwing is permitted by all BUT everyone must act responsibly, with a demeanor appropriate for their age 4. ALL those attending MUST stay on the sidewalks at all times when fire apparatus are in the street.

By following these simple guidelines, the residents of Stewart Manor, visitors from other villages, and the firefighters can have a fun, safe, and memorable Fourth of July!
