The Top 3 Things To Do in Iceland (IMO):

💫 𝓙𝓸𝓴𝓾𝓵𝓼𝓪𝓻𝓵𝓸𝓷 𝓖𝓵𝓪𝓬𝓲𝓮𝓻 𝓛𝓪𝓰𝓸𝓸𝓷, it’s best to visit this place late in the afternoon, it’s when the icebergs are plentiful on the shoreline. More icebergs = better views. Across the street is the Diamond Beach, which is also best visited in the afternoon. (Went to both places twice, late afternoon and around sunrise and the difference of the icebergs that are washed ashore is like night and day.)

💫 See the 𝓝𝓸𝓻𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓷 𝓛𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽𝓼 - you don’t need to book a tour for this, you can do this yourself, just go somewhere without light pollution and in Iceland, it’s not a problem finding such a place. Just drive a little further away from the city or town and make sure that it isn’t a cloudy night. October is a good month for Northern Lights sightings.

💫 𝓓𝔂𝓷𝓳𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓲 - it’s a little out of the way but so worth it the moment you see this beauty. And with breathtaking views along the way, it sure is never a boring drive. Iceland has so many beautiful waterfalls, but to me, Dynjandi is the jewel of them all. 🤩

The Toadstool Hoodoos in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is an underrated destination. The trail towards it offers stunning desert scenery as you hike to a collection of balanced rocks formations which look like toadstools, or capped mushrooms.

The hike is about 1.5 miles round-trip, and is easy to moderate.

Things To Know:
✨The trailhead is located off Highway 89, 45 miles east of Kanab and 12 miles west of Big Water.
✨There are no fees to visit.
✨The trail is open year-round.
✨The area is dog-friendly, but must be on leash at all times.
✨Avoid touching and climbing on these fragile formations.

When To Visit:
✨Spring and fall are generally good times to visit.
✨Summer is very hot and the whole hike is exposed, so avoid going during the middle of the day in the summer.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝕓𝕖𝕤𝕥 𝕧𝕚𝕖𝕨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝕔𝕝𝕚𝕞𝕓.

I couldn’t agree more when I hiked the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, considered the best single day hike of New Zealand, with a total distance of 19.4 kilometers (12 miles). It was the first long-distance hike I’ve ever done and the most unforgettable to this date. But I was willing to do it because of the rewarding view I know I’ll see at the highest point of the trail and the dramatic landscape I get to see along the way is just a bonus. I remember we got up early so we could take the first trip of the bus that will take us to the starting point. It was in April and mid-autumn in New Zealand. The temperature in the early morning was biting for me since I get cold easily. But I came prepared and was bundled up in layers and not long after we started walking, I had to take off my jacket since my body felt warm with the movement. The hike took longer than anticipated (we did frequent stops to enjoy the view we were surrounded with and just take it all in) and we were among the ones who took the last trip of the bus. 😂 (1st trip kay para mag una unta pero last trip gihapon 😂🤣) We were exhausted at the end of the day yet so happy of the experience because of the unforgettable beauty of the Blue Lake and Emerald Lakes. Of all the things we did in New Zealand, I can’t decide which activity was my most favorite, but one thing is for sure, hiking the Tongariro Alpine Crossing is among my top 3.

Is New Zealand in your bucket list? Would you hike 12 miles to get this kind of view? I am more than willing to do it again if given the chance. I haven’t been to many countries yet, but New Zealand is at the top of my favorite destination and I’m not sure if it will ever be replaced. That’s how much I love the beauty of the Land of the Long White Cloud. 🤩😍❤️

My most unforgettable find in Hawaii - Rainbow Eucalyptus.

Did you know? The Rainbow Eucalyptus is native to the Philippines and it is also known as Mindanao Gum or Rainbow Gum. While the natural beauty of this tree may seem at home in Hawaii, the very first rainbow eucalyptus was delivered from the Philippines and were planted on Oahu at the Wahiawa Botanical Garden in 1929.
