Community, the time is ALMOST here!!! Our team has worked hard to provide our people in the joints a platform for themselves! We are not a mere "pen pal" magazine, but a community building magazine. Remember that. People seem to right off those who are incarcerated as if they were dead already but really, prison is a place where one can be reborn! Dutch Dolla$ is a prime example! Community! We are approaching the final count down! We have had a minor set back with our people in Idaho. Just like any good thing, those without always want to see you without. But no problem we will keep moving ⏩. I can't wait til you all see our sisters from the Idaho 📍. Beautiful 😍 and bold! But I must say that Ohio is coming out of nowhere. Wisconsin is 😒 lacking 😆 it's time to show up and show out Community..
Community, today I just want to show the 💕 to the ladies in Idaho's DOC...they are for surely down for they cause!! 😊 That is why it is only right that a lady from the Idaho 📍 grace our cover! She is beautiful, and bold! Her story is of one you see in movies! Kinda like "Queen of the South"; She is a Cali native doing big things(til they got her) 🤫..look for her and read her story in issue #1...duhn duhn duuuuhhhnn..
Community, I think we have our first beautiful person to grace our pages of issue #1...I won't reveal her, but I will say that she is most definitely a head turner. Representing our Wisconsin, putting on for the cheese 🧀 state!! She will not disappoint our people behind the walls. She is most definitely a face and figure that will encourage coming home and staying home!!! 😆 I have to say thank you to the ladies who have sent there photos for a spot. Community, I hope you all are in the best of health and spirits. We are moving alone perfectly with the first issue. The requests for modeling for our publication are pouring in. We can't even screen them all. So thank you to all the beautiful people showing the love and interest. We have not decided yet on our first model so please feel free to keep sending us your images.

What is up Community?! Today is a beautiful day, a day for expressing. To keep you up to date the magazine is coming along. We have some amazing men and women who are eager to tell the world who they are! We are currently receiving requests to CONnect Us from several states, brothas and sistas of all shades ready for the world to judge them not for what they have been, but for who they are now. We all have made mistakes, some more serious than others, however that doesn't make those whom errors are more severe ,horrible people. Now I must say this, CONnect Us does not endorse ANY crime as acceptable, only the person who is genuinely sincere about their errors and their change! But you see Community, change can not happen alone for those in the system. They need the support of the Community if they are to be released back into the Community as rehabilitated contributors! They need us to give them an incentive to want to be better. How does the Community do this you ask, by first supporting the cause of CONnect Us Magazine. We are not merely asking that you purchase our magazines, but simply showing the love on your social media platforms ; reading some of the bios introduced by our Jailed Birds; reaching out; whatever you think is best to show those who are left abandoned that they are not alone. Not everyone in prison or jail is how they are portrayed to be: evil, rapest, child molesters, with predatory characteristics. Most are just the lowly of us, fallen on hard times, or some who are forced into situations that they can't escape out of fear of death. In the end who are WE to judge that which we don't know or understand?! So I say to you Community, when you are going about your everyday life, look at the faces of your loved ones and realize that any one of them could be a face you see behind glass. How would you want them to be treated in that situation?!

Welcome, to those who have shown support for and to our cause. CONnect Us is a publication for the incarcerated to express themselves, to take back themselves. It is more than just a pen-pal magazine, but a platform for expression, self representation, uplifting, enlightenment, and unification. We are in a society where the consensus is ‘lock'em up and throw away the key,' but where is the humanity in that?! Where is the forgiveness or the love when one attempts to rehabilitate rather than to castrate?! I read in Nelson Mandela's book, 'A long walk to freedom,' a statement that he referenced: “If you want to know how good a country is, visit its prisons! It is not how well a country treats its highest citizens, but how well it treats its lowest .” Let not my passion deter me from my message. We are not here to play politics. We are here to give back the humanity and dignity to those behind the walls.
