Wanda Bien, the town’s conservation administrator, has decided to call it a career after two and a half decades of service to Sutton. Her career was marked by an impressive steadfastness—even working through two bouts of breast cancer.

“I think [my favorite part was] working with the people,” Bien said. “[Sutton] has been my second home for 25 years… I’ve seen a lot of people come and go, and I’ve had a lot of friends. Everybody’s great to work with.”

Earlier this month, Millbury Police Sergeant Christopher Polselli appeared on Milford’s radio station, MyFM101.3. Polselli was brought on to talk about his role in the charitable, community-driven ‘Fill-A-Cruiser’ toy drive, put on by the Millbury Police Department (MPD).

“It just has been a massive success, and [it’s] incredibly rewarding to have a mechanism that can drive a Christmas for a kid that may not otherwise have received many gifts,” Polselli told the Chronicle.

Learn about a great foundation!

Grafton High School is partnered with Morgan’s Message, a 501(c)(3) aimed at empowering student-athletes to become comfortable speaking out about their struggles with mental health.

According to the Co-Founder of Morgan’s Message and the Director of the Morgan’s Message Education Program, Clare Kehoe Zychowski, the organization was founded in honor of Duke University women’s lacrosse player, Morgan Rodgers, who committed su***de six years ago.

“We are proud to have turned our devastating loss into an organization and community that is inspiring student-athletes around the world, fostering peer-to-peer connection, sharing vital mental health education, and encouraging action to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health,” Zychowski said.

Was it a struggle to find the perfect gift this holiday season? Next year, consider stopping by The Little Vintage Studio in Sutton—an antique store that has something for everybody, including products like plants, tea, and even candles, towels, and signs with the town names Millbury, Sutton, and Grafton written on them.

For owner Michelle Munroe Brown, running her own store was always high on her agenda, as she looked up to her parents who did the same.

“My parents owned four Annie’s Book Stops—the used bookstores from the 80s and 90s,” Brown said. “My mother brought in vintage, gifts, cards, and more to one location with great success. I always loved how she decorated the front window, her care in picking just the right music for ambiance, and [her] great eye for buying products.”

Kristen Morse got the idea for Sutton’s In-Line K9 Training about a decade and a half ago when she needed a job while her husband was serving in the military. Despite having to start the business out of necessity, Morse quickly grew fond of dog training.

“It’s just such a wonderful experience, but very challenging and rewarding at the same time, doing all of these things by myself,” Morse said.

Recently, Matt Laramie from Matt’s LEGO Drive for Kids with Cancer, and his daughter, Olivia, stopped by the Millbury Police Department and caught up with Laramie’s close friend, Sergeant Christopher Polselli.

The visit comes after Polselli’s appearance on 101.3FM where he gave a shoutout to Laramie’s LEGO Drive. Afterwards, LEGO set donations started pouring into the MPD, and Laramie and Olivia came to collect the toys.

“We collected toys from our residents, then donated those toys to a guy who hand-delivers the toys to kids with cancer,” Polselli said. “I mean, if that doesn’t hit you straight in the feels, you should probably check your pulse… It takes a long time in life to realize that you get more when you give than you do when you receive.”
