THE CANDY MACHINE - Casarachi Classics 1993 - The Candy Machine - another one of my goofy recordings in my bedroom studio. "Basically I taught myself how to play drums on this tune. Any drummer who can keep a beat will tell you how far off the drums really are but I managed to dub over and make the average listener think otherwise.. I never listened to Zappa, but a lot of people who hear this ask if I was inspired by Frank Zappa, no but for this I am honored in that I did hear of him. I hope Mr. Z takes no offence. I make it a point to not listen to or collect and "get into" other musicians music in fear that I might copy, or be influenced by. It's just something possible without us even realizing it. Music and melody remains in our subconcious. Thankfully my mind was built on Mozart so there's a lot going on in there. They say everything from that time forward was already created by him and all the other classical composers who came along since. So I think it's a matter of sound, not so much notes but there is nothing like a good melody, the simpler the better, so it can be remembered,not that this particular recording has a melody, well I suppose it does if you can find it. I think I was testing out and learning how to use a new to me effects processor, a vintage Eventide H949 I hope you like it. Thanks for the listen/like & share!
