From Milford CT Police Department-

On January 24, 2025, at approximately 0240 hours, Milford Police were dispatched to a Milford Point Road address for the report of an attempted vehicle theft.

While officers were enroute to the residence, it was relayed that the suspects had entered the residence.

Officers responded to the residence in a timely manner and as they arrived, a Black BMW occupied by a single male fled at a high rate of speed.

Responding officers in the area were able to successfully deploy stop sticks near Milford Point Road and Deerwood Avenue.

The occupant exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers on scene at the residence observed two males running out of the rear door and engaged them in a foot pursuit on the beach.

K9 Rip and his handler were among the officers in
the foot pursuit, and he was able to apprehend the juvenile suspect. He was immediately given medical attention before being transported to Milford Hospital. Officers searched the juvenile and located multiple items belonging to the victim as well as a large sum of cash on his person.

K9 Rip and his handler conducted a secondary track for the second suspect that fled on foot. After a track through multiple backyards and marsh lines, K9 Rip’s behavior intensified, showing that suspect was likely in the immediate area.

Multiple commands were given for the suspect to make himself known. K9 Rip further brought officers to a small fence with a boardwalk behind it extending to the marsh. K9 Rip alerted to the
bottom of the boardwalk which was only about 6inches in heigh from the ground. Officers bent down and were able to see a black male wearing all black lying under the boardwalk.

After several commands and announcing the presence of K9, the suspect did not comply, and K9 Rip was eventually able to apprehend the suspect, pulling him out slowly.

Officers took the suspect into custody without further incident. The suspect later identified as 19-year-old Jahquil Louis of 320 South Orange Avenue, Newark, NJ, was immediately given
medical attention before being transported to Milford Hospital.

From Connecticut State Police-

On Saturday, 01/25/25 at approximately 11:51 PM, Troop G- Bridgeport received a 911 call reporting erratic operation of a vehicle traveling south on Route 8 in Bridgeport.

The 911 caller reported that the vehicle ran off the roadway into the center median and may have struck the concrete Jersey barrier.

A responding Trooper located a black Jeep Liberty in the center median of Route 8 southbound near exit 7.

It was determined that the vehicle had not collided with the Jersey barrier and the Trooper made contact with the operator to ascertain why the vehicle was parked in the center median.

The investigating Trooper made contact with the vehicle operator, who was positively identified as Jessica Reyes (DOB 04/08/96), of Derby.

While speaking with Reyes, the Trooper observed multiple signs of impairment and requested Reyes step out of her vehicle so as to administer Standardized Field Sobriety Testing.

As soon as Reyes stepped out of the vehicle, it became apparent that she was unsteady on her feet.

Upon moving to the rear of her vehicle, Reyes lost her balance and nearly fell over into the left lane of Route 8 southbound.

For her own safety, the Trooper took hold of Reyes to prevent her from being struck by passing traffic.

In response, Reyes subsequently struck the Trooper in the chin with a closed fist. Reyes was then escorted to the ground, where she was placed in handcuffs and advised she was under arrest.

While doing so, Reyes spit in the Trooper's face. Reyes' vehicle was subsequently towed from Route 8. Reyes was transported to Troop G, where she was processed on the following charges:

• CGS 14-227a; Illegal Operation of a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs

• CGS 14-251(c); Improper Parking on Highway

• CGS 53a-167a; Interfering With an Officer/Resisting

• CGS 53a-167c; Assault on Public Safety Personnel (2 counts)

Reyes was later released from custody on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Bridgeport Superior Court on 02/24/25.
