The South Gibson Lady Hornets are headed to the Class 3A semifinals on Friday and will play at 4 p.m. South Gibson beat Cocke County 43-39 in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Check out these images from the game.

South Gibson is headed to the Class 3A semifinals for the 3rd straight year

With a 43-39 win over Cocke County in the Class 3A quarterfinals, South Gibson will play in the state semifinals for the third straight season.
South Gibson (28-8) plays the Heritage-Portland winner in the state semifinals on Friday at 4 p.m.
Cocke County took a 34-33 lead with 7:07 to play in the game, but the Lady Hornets answered with an 8-0 run with six of those points coming at the free throw line. Karson Dunn hit on free throw, Jade Reed hit a layup, Trinity Johnson hit a free throw, Faith Reed hit two free throws and Dunn hit two free throws for the 41-34 lead with 47.9 seconds to play.
Jade Reed finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and five steals, while Karson Dunn added nine points, three assists and two steals and Ivy Cianciolo had eight points, two assists, one block and two steals.

At halftime, South Gibson girls basketball leads Cocke County 22-17 in the Class 3A quarterfinals.
The Lady Hornets got into foul trouble early with Jade Reed and Karson Dunn picking up two fouls each early.
But South Gibson settled in from there and held the Lady Red to seven points in the second quarter.
Jade Reed leads the Lady Hornets with nine points, and Faith Reed has eight points.
