It’s time for Tidbits Tuesday, brought to you by Mr. Pickup Truck Accessories. It’s officially RACE week for this region and sprint cars, Modifieds and late models all are front and center. Let’s take a look as to ‘what’s happening where,’ in this area, for this weekend.
Flyer 1 & 2) the Elite Outlaw Sprints will kick off their 2025 race season, this weekend with three events at two different race tracks. It all kicks off on Thursday night with a stop at I-37 Speedway in Pleasanton, Texas. The first flyer has your race details for the nights race action. The next two-nights, it’s down to Corpus Christi and South Texas Race Ranch. Your race details are in the caption area, attached to the second Flyer.
Noah Gass, Rees Moran, Pennsylvania’s Logan McCandless, Jason Martin, Landon Crawley and Sam Hafertepe, Jr are just a sampling of over 30 drivers, I’m expecting. All three nights will pay $4000 to-win. All three nights will be shown on Race On
Tidbits will be down there all-three nights taking pictures and covering these events, the tidbits way.
Flyer 3) another series will open their season on Thursday night as the USRA American Racer Modified Series heads to HOT Speedway in Waco. With USMTS competing there on Friday and Saturday night, look for a car count in upwards of 50 on Thursday night. Check the caption on the third flyer for details.
Flyer 4) As I stated above, the USMTS - United States Modified Touring Series kicks off their season at HOT with a weekend double-header. Race details are in the caption section of the fourth flyer. Both the USRA-ARMS and USMTS events will be shown on RacinDirt.com
Flyers 5-7) After last weekend’s cancellation due to the weather, the National Open Wheel 600 Series opens 2025 with a weekend triple-header at lil’ Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. It will be “micro mayhem” as I expect an excellent car count, each night. All three nights will be shown on Start2Finish
Flyer eight) you like fender action? Well, Springfield Raceway has you covered with two-nights of unsanctioned late model race action on Friday and Saturday night and it will be ‘salute to the MLRA’ weekend. All while honoring Randy Mooneyham and Ken Essary. Friday night pays $5036 to-win while Saturday night pays $10,036 to-win.
Billy Moyer, Sr,. Tony Jackson, Jr. and Brian Shirley are just a sampling of the late model drivers who are expected. The eighth flyer has ALL your event details.
Flyer 9) KENNEDALE SPEEDWAY PARK opens 2025 with a 305 sprint car special paying $1000 to-win. Details and the full list of classes running are on the flyer.
In tidbits news. Only three more modified drivers have registered for the $100,000 to-win event atop the Salina High Banks on March 21-22. That brings the total count close to 70. Why you modified drivers won’t support this, is beyond me. Yes, entry fee and such is a bit but look at the money you’re racing for. Kinda like the gambling machines, you pay Pennie’s then you’ll get chump change, in return. The higher you pay, the better chance you’ll get to make bigger money.
It looks like a total facelift for Creek County Speedway. New fencing, upgraded property, new signage, etc. are being made in the snow and the mud. Matt and Ashlee Ward have busted their ass, since taking over the track a couple months ago, and are working non-atop with a dedicated crew to get everything ready for race action, in a couple weeks. Go to the tracks page as they are videoing everything that is taking place. Believe they are up to episode four.
There are more tidbits but have to end it here. Hope it was informative.
