What does it mean to be Mayor of Midland? I sat down with Jeaneen Pruitt Lyson to talk about Midland’s city governance and my passion for improving the quality of life in Midland, Texas.
The median age in Midland is 31.4 years old and it’s very important to invest in things that young families want to see in Midland. There is motivation to pursue public/private partners from community-minded leaders to find private investments to help fund quality of life and place projects. While the City shouldn’t fund every idea, we must have foresight and friendly processes for the growth in our city. The City’s job is to meet the needs of citizens today, while still planning for the future.
I hope you’ll take the time to listen to our conversation. We covered a range of topics, including infrastructure, downtown revitalization, future growth, recognizing City staff, balancing work-life and affordable housing.
Jeaneen, thank you for having me on your podcast. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with you and it was an honor to share my insights and heart for Midland with you and our listeners.
Thank you also to Ryan Shewchuk at Forty Wolves for editing and marketing for the podcast.
