The Film Posse is a film and video production company. We research and develop, write, produce, direct and consult on media for screens large and small.

Our clients include broadcasters, museums, media production companies, and indie filmmakers. We also serve as consultants and educators.

As some of you know, the first independent film I co-produced was Adrift with director of photography Tom Curran. The key team included Myna Joseph, Shondra Lyn Burke, Laura Parker Roerden, Llew Smith, Jamila Wignot and Todd Boekelheide. We are honored to be nominated for the NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Documentary (Television) for our films ZORA NEALE HURSTON: CLAIMING A SPACE and THE BUSING BATTLEGROUND!

✍🏾 ZORA NEALE HURSTON: CLAIMING A SPACE tells the story of the influential author and anthropologist who collected folklore throughout the South and Caribbean — reclaiming, honoring and celebrating Black life on its own terms.

🚌 THE BUSING BATTLEGROUND viscerally captures the class tensions and racial violence in 1970s Boston when Black and white students were bused for the first time between neighborhoods to comply with a federal desegregation order.

Both films are available to stream free on PBS.org and the App.
