Thank you to my first customer of the day, my loyal friend and fellow maker, tie dye artist/vendor Tiffany! Traffic was slow today (as it has been during the excessive heat). And the heat is predicted to continue into next week.

Even so I have hope that things will pick up. I see that Hardesters, which is just across the street, has plenty of traffic. I also notice in Costco and Hardesters the trend for the Grab & Go meals to be more and more popular. People are opting for the fresher option than typical frozen dinners. And now that I'm at Mona's bakery, I'm finally in prime position to fulfill my wildest dreams ... from back in 2011 when I made the decision to reinvent myself as a health coach/foodie, making and selling comfort foods in a clean, organic, whole foods, traditional way.

I dreamed of a Grab and Go case in which I could stock healthy, fresh, organic and delicious meals, soups, snacks and treats for people to enjoy. It's happening ... though we could use more customers.

Fresh today at Hardester's Markets in Hidden Valley & Middletown. Stock up for the weekend. These loaves are some of the softest and lightest yet. Crisping the edges is easy when you toast or warm them up in the oven. Tomorrow, cinnamon swirls and cinnamon rolls return!

Hardesters HVL & Middletown are freshly stocked with breads and now, for the first time EVER, you can now find my long fermented wild yeast pizza crusts at Hardesters HVL in the Pizza end cap! They Original crusts are now in stock again in both stores in the pizza freezer. Thank you for buying my breads. I love hearing how you use them to jazz up your meals!

Yesterday standing in line at the cashier in HVL, a man I didn't know yet noticed my bread bag and asked if I was the one who made the bread. He said he had recently bought a baguette, warmed it in the oven and proceeded to make the BEST sandwich he'd ever had in his whole life. "Worth every penny," he added, twice, for emphasis.

Hi friends! Cakes and More in Middletown has discount sourdough breads, baguettes and more from Goddess of the Mountain. Even on the Day Old rack it's still fresh enough to enjoy toasted, or wet it and toss into a hot oven for a few minutes to bring back the magic. Also save big on fresh breads with cosmetic challenges ;)

Hello friends! Fresh breads and pizza crusts are now stocked at Hardester's Market in Middletown. Stock up and put a few loaves in the freezer if you want to have fresh sourdough on hand! (Tip: half frozen loaves are easiest to slice. Then wrap in plastic and double bag for best results. Pop a frozen slice in the toaster and Voila! Just like fresh baked!)

Tonight during Open Mic! Bread blowout returns! FREE bread/for donation, first come basis. Fresh baked bread available for sale at Goddess of the Mountain booth. Sweet or savory crepes including Korean pan-crepes, and pesto cheese crepes or grilled sandwiches as well as cob oven pizzas, Mocktails and MORE! Come say hi! We will be open extended hours to feed hungry partiers downtown!

We all know it is harder to attract a new customer than to build loyalty with an old one ... the same goes for employees and vendors.
Build relationships with community this summer and host a party on First Fridays.

Phoenix Collaborative, Co-creators of First Friday Artwalks in Middletown, invites local business to rise up and decentralize the concept of First Fridays. Build community by hosting your own parties on the First Fridays of each month (thru Nov) in Middletown.

Decentralization was the original intent for First Fridays Art Walks, specifically designed as individual events happening simultaneously to stimulate and support the downtown economy of small local businesses, artists, makers and musicians.

Challenges with Environmental Health insisting on seeing the Art Walk as one big event killed our ability to grow it without signing on to liability as sponsors. This restricted the amount of food vendors to a total of only one that could legally be included at all host businesses. (The EH rule is one food vendor per event without incurring sponsor fees and permit requirements). Farmers Market exempted (as they are allowed more food and seen as a stand alone event), the concept of First Fridays needs more street food scattered around town to draw traffic. This is why it was created as a collaboration to begin with and why we now publicly call for you to take the baton and run with it. Bring First Fridays back the way it was intended to be. A dynamic co-creation by and for community

To this end Phoenix will now host a First Friday bulletin board at our booth in farmers market on First Fridays. We invite local businesses to bring fliers advertising your event and post your invitation to the community to let them know what you have going on.
