Now just 2-1/2 weeks away! Here's an invitation to "Celebrating 30 Years of Jacob's Well Coffeehouse" at the WIHS Amphitheater in Middletown, CT on Saturday, July 19 from 1-4 pm by Dave Pettigrew. Dave is one of the most popular Christian artists in the history of Jacob's Well. He will share his original praise and worship music, singing and playing keyboards. Like the waves of Long Island Sound heading for the shoreline, WIHS is preparing for several "waves" including the first-ever free concert at the WIHS Amphitheater on Saturday, July 19 AND this year's Celebrate Jesus Gala & Expo at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington on Saturday, October 18.

Gala ticket sales and ministry display registration will begin in mid-August, but we just posted preliminary information on the Gala at https://www.wihsradio.org/index.php/activities/annual-banquet/.

WIHS would like to pay tribute to a faithful servant of God, Eleanor Pelley, who went home to be with Jesus on June 18, 2025 at the age of 96. Eleanor and her husband Jim faithfully served the Lord at WIHS for four decades and were icons to the WIHS family as the face of the station. Jim was the first voice heard on WIHS in 1969 and served as our primary broadcaster until 1992.

Eleanor helped with administrative tasks and on the air and after their retirement the Pelleys continued to serve as volunteers at WIHS mailings, Faith Sharings and banquets. Jim volunteered at the station until just a few months before his homegoing in 2006 and Eleanor continued to faithfully volunteer into her 90s.

Eleanor loved the Lord dearly and was smart, funny, devoted and a great woman of God.

WIHS listeners are invited to attend calling hours for Eleanor on Tuesday, July 1st from 5 to 7pm at Beecher and Bennett Funeral Home in Hamden, and a memorial service celebrating Eleanor's life on Wednesday, July 2nd at 10:30am at Liberty Community Church in North Haven.

The WIHS board and staff extend their deep sympathies to Eleanor's family and give thanks to God for Eleanor and her faithful service at WIHS. The family is deeply grateful to God for the many people who blessed and enriched Eleanor's life. Tom and Debbie Berrill with the Institute of Connecticut History did another fine job giving Christians a tour of the State Capitol yesterday and sharing their presentation on Connecticut's Christian history.
