As promised, here is info on Chris Adams' wake and funeral service, which is on Thursday, October 30, taken from his recently-published obituary.

Rev. Christopher P. Adams, 59, of New Britain, husband of Leona (Macomber) Adams, passed away Wednesday (October 22, 2025) at his home. Born in Hartford, he is son of Phillippa (Anderson) Adams of Senoia, GA, and the late Victor P. Adams. He lived in New Britain and West Hartford, returning to New Britain in 2006. A graduate of Conard High School in West Hartford, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Hartford and attended Hartford Seminary.

Christopher became interested and involved, in singing at the age of 12. He has been singing ever since. He performed in numerous musicals, including You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Oklahoma, Mame, Guys and Dolls, and Camelot. Christopher also sang with the Connecticut Opera Association in their production of The Barber of Seville. He was also a member of the Choral Club of Hartford.

For five years running, Christopher was one of the most requested entertainers for the Good Ole Days Productions/SENSE Incorporated, a non-profit entertainment showcase founded by the legendary Claire Lear Brown of Newington, CT.

Christopher has been performing a soloist with a beautiful baritone voice throughout New England area and performs in concerts in schools, nursing homes, retirement communities, faith communities and civic events.

Christopher was an award-winning entertainer. In 1999, he won the Yankee Doodle Award for Best Guest Entertainer from the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Pageant Foundation for his performance of Old Man River at their Miss Newington Scholarship Pageant. He was invited back to the event the following year to perform by popular demand.

Besides being an entertainer, he was an ordained minister, a Chaplain at Adelbrook Childrens Home of Cromwell, a Christian residential facility. For 13 years, he served as Minister of Music at Tabernacle Baptist Church in New Britain. He was also interim pastor at Bethlehem Covenant Church in Worcester, Mass.

Pastor Adams was a Hospice Counselor and Chaplain for Athena Health in Farmington and was Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Plainfield. He was well known as the “Singing Chaplain” and a Board member of WIHS Christian Radio Station in Middletown.

Dear WIHS Friends: We just learned that Rev. Christopher Adams, our wonderful "Singing Chaplain" who so beautifully closed last Saturday's Gala leading us in "Great Is Thy Faithfulness," went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday. Chris has been a long-time friend, Board member, Family Prayer Circle and Bread of Life pastor.

We don't have any details on a memorial service, but as soon as we have them, we'll share them with you. Please pray for his wife Leona and their extended family.

Remember 2 Corinthians 5:8: "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." Praise God, we know that Chris is home with His Lord and Savior!

Lord, thank you for giving us Chris Adams. He was a HUGE blessing to countless souls through his selfless, Christlike service as a hospice chaplain, pastor of First Congregational Church of Plainfield, and in so many other ways at WIHS and elsewhere.

We had a terrific Celebrate Jesus Gala & Expo on Saturday evening! One of our Ministry Expo exhibitors was Guidelines International Ministries based in California. Guidelines has been one of our WIHS programmers since we went on the air in 1969.

Prior to the Gala, CEO Bonnie Sala and Director of Strategy and Development Kevin Condrin visited the station on Friday. In California, they don't have colorful fall foliage that we do, so on Friday afternoon, Matt Harper, Drew Crandall, Robin Hansen, Jessica Chenery and Katherine Burchard took Bonnie and Kevin to Castle Craig in Meriden. It was a spectacular day!

If you've never been to Castle Craig, it's in Hubbard Park. You may either hike up the mountain or take the windy road up to the summit. Either way, it's worth the trip!

In a way, you could say that Bonnie and Kevin had two consecutive Mountaintop Experiences. One, physical and the other (the Gala) spiritual!
