For 55 years, WIHS has been a 100% listener-supported, commercial-free and debt-free 501c3 non-profit media ministry. Last year, 43% of our donations came in the 4th quarter.

We have an $800,000 2024 budget and we need a surge in donations between now and December 31 to finish the year "in the black." Please visit www.WIHSradio.org to make your donation online or via text. You may also call the station office at 860-346-1049 on weekdays between 9 am and 5 pm to make a credit/debit card donation or for details on making a donation via check.

We appreciate you! Thank you! Through God's Grace and your generous support, we are a vibrant Lighthouse for the Lord in Connecticut!

In life, have you noticed that many things that appear to be "simple" on the surface are actually quite "complicated" behind the scenes?

That's true of operating an on-air and online radio station 24/7. There are many moving parts, which we visualize as eight "walls" of WIHS: Leadership/Vision, Government Relations, Communication/Community, News/Programs, Music, HR/Operations, Legal/Finance, and Technology/Facilities. All on the foundation of our Rock, the Lord Jesus!

Your all-volunteer Board of Directors meets quarterly (in addition to being in touch regularly between meetings) to do a 360-degree review and assessment, to make sure that we are leading and operating the station as diligently and wisely as possible.

Please pray for our Board meeting this Saturday morning!

Here's another encouraging update about our growing digital footprint: this fall, WIHS launched a first-ever grassroots social media campaign to introduce the station and its Christ-centered content to residents of all 169 towns and cities in Connecticut!

Based on research that we have been aware of in recent years, an estimated 15% of Connecticut's population has experienced the New Birth. Today, we received a memo from Vision New England that "New England is consistently rated the least churched and least religious part of the country. The best data available has New England at 2-4% evangelical, which is close to an unreached people group."

We are not hiding our Light under a bushel! Just the opposite: we are shining across the state more than ever, through traditional media, digital media and in-person outreach. Please pray that souls will be saved and saints will be inspired, encouraged and exhorted. Connecticut is a ripe mission field!

In recent years, WIHS has made significant progress in expanding its digital footprint.

Did you know, for example, that the "WIHS 1049" YouTube Channel contains over 2,200 original WIHS programs? This includes WIHS Journal, Spectrum of Sound, Bread of Life, and Ministry Roundtable. You can do searches by program, speaker, organization and topic. Check it out and tell others about it!

YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine in the world and is an excellent digital platform for video--which we intend to get into more in the months and years ahead!

Audio/video content from WIHS-produced shows such as Bread of Life and WIHS Journal, plus special videos on WIHS-related events and promotions.

This afternoon, Jessica Chenery set up the first-ever WIHS "Happy Birthday, Jesus" Christmas tree for display and auctioning at the 50th annual Festival of Trees & Traditions at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in downtown Hartford, which runs from December 5-15. This is another creative way that we're seeking to keep the Christ in Christmas and encourage people to listen on the air and online! Yesterday, Jessica Chenery from WIHS was out and about serving at Bethel Christian Church, 106 South Street in West Hartford, to help them to prepare for their November food pantry tomorrow (Saturday, November 16) from 11 am to 1:30 pm.

Once a month, the Church organizes a community outreach food pantry during which they give food to anyone in need. An enthusiastic, dedicated group of volunteers from their church and surrounding churches cheerfully gives their time to make this happen. Since the launch of the food pantry, they have given food to 50,000 families!

"Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." (Matthew 7:20 KJV)

If you are an adult U.S. citizen, you have the incredible right, privilege, opportunity and responsibility to vote on Election Day (unless you've already participated in early voting). Before you vote, inspect the fruit and pray for divine wisdom and discernment!
