--> Experience a compelling Artist Talk at The Contemporary Art Modern Project (The CAMP Gallery) on Saturday, November 9th from 2 – 5pm. This panel will feature CAMP artists Isabel Infante and Janet M. Mueller, whose work is currently on display at The CAMP Gallery for Women Pulling at the Threads of Social Discourse. This exhibition is curated by Gallery Founder, Melanie Prapopoulos, and co-curated by Gallery Director, Maria Gabriela Di Giammarco. This Event is FREE & Open to the Public. RSVP via link. The 6th edition of Women Pulling at The Threads of Social Discourse: We Got The Power. Showcasing fibers works from 81 artists responding to “Lysistrata” by Aristophanes, and “Chi-Raq” by Spike Lee, this exhibition explores, through unity, the possibility for change. This exhibition is on view from October 11 through December 20, 2024. “Going through the artworks that make the frieze, the artists have all approached the primary source of the play and adapted its message to compliment their intent. Playing with the reliance of opposites on one another for balance, Isabel Infante calls for a continuation of acceptance of the opposite – arguing that our differences are what makes a society, but the key lies in acceptance and respect. Janet Mueller recreates and reinterprets elements both from the play and history exposing the timelessness of the problems facing the feminine.” co-curator Melanie Prapopoulos.
