Tune in Wednesdays, 7-8 PM, for a new show, El Trovador, hosted by Christopher Montejo!

Flaco, a Cuban troubadour, stumbles upon a magical self-weaving tapestry. Whenever he sleeps on it, he awakes in another land and time. Follow his journey documenting music history throughout Latin America and the Caribbean on THE ROAR, FIU's college radio station.

A little look some of the renovations we pulled off during the Fall semester! A huge thank you goes out to our wonderful DJs and e-board members Natalie Carlomagno and Elise Lopez for spearheading it! We added a couch and a nice table to the lounge, in addition to cleaning up the clutter that was in it before, and decorated the whole studio to make the place feel more lived in.

Favorite album, and why?
I am having a lot of trouble picking one album, but I think that Favourite Worst Nightmare by Arctic Monkeys is one of my all time favorites. There isn't a single song I don't like and it has been one of my all-time favorite albums for at least ten years now.

What’s your current show?
Riot Grrrl + Y'allternative

Favorite Concert You've Ever Been Too?
The Garden! I saw them earlier this year at Shaky Knees and I am seeing them again in 2 weeks :)

Meet our e-board for the 2022-2023 year! Next up- our Traffic and Training manager, Elise!

Favorite album, and why?
As I’m torn between a few, it might have to be Ceres and Calypso in the Deep Time by Candy Claws. Listening to that album feels like watching an uncanny movie with a shaky plot, like Yellow Submarine, but very obviously not Yellow Submarine. Runner up is Saâda Bonaire’s self titled album.

What’s your current show?
My current show is star67. For the most part, it’s a liquid and drum & bass show, of course including jungle and breakcore.

Favorite Concert You've Ever Been Too?
Wavves, easily. They’re a childhood favorite.

Song You've Been Listening To On Repeat?

Meet out E-Board for the 2022-2023 year! First up, our general manger- Maxwell!

Favorite album, and why?
Doolittle by Pixies. Not only is it an incredibly cohesive album, with hit after hit of noise pop extravaganza, it basically kickstarted the entire trajectory of 90s rock. Without it, alternative music would not be the same.

What’s your current show?
Intercontinental Flight, an explorative journey throughout the world of music. In a less cryptic sense, I play folk music from non-English speaking countries, sometimes with a theme in mind, sometimes just with just a general medley of music from a wide variety of countries. This was quite the overlong explanation, wasn't it?

Favorite concert you’ve ever been to?
Bjork at the Adrienne Arsht Center, 2022. It was Bjork backed with just a string orchestra, and it was genuinely transcendental.

Song You've Been Listening To On Repeat?
Belize by Black Thought, Danger Mouse, and the one and only MF DOOM.
