These are some of the fab photos they are shraing with us!

“Trina was adopted when she was 10.
She wasn’t an owner surrender- the previous owner dumped her at the shelter with rotted teeth and a large mass on her bum that dragged on the ground.
A wonder rescue pulled her and after watching her for two weeks online with no adoption interest, I knew I had to adopt her. She’s now almost 17 and thriving!

Henry was also an owner surrender. He came to us at 2. He was used as a bait dog in a dog fighting ring. He had never been socialized and didn’t even know how to go to the bathroom standing up.
For the first 6 months he wouldn’t let any men come near him, not even my boyfriend. He’s come a long way from the scared insecure dog and is now thriving at 12.

Having senior babies is a commitment - but the most rewarding kind. Having a 12 and a 16 year old- sometimes it means doing things at their schedule - bathroom breaks, walks, meal time, administering meds… they truly run this household!

They have taught me unconditional love in so many ways. They’ve also taught us to slow down and be present - enjoy the present day - we don’t take each for granted in our house. Every day we get to spend with our babies is a blessing.

Having a senior dog isn’t easy but it will be the MOST rewarding thing a person can do in their lives. No senior dogs deserve to be discarded and die alone in a crowded shelter. Please consider adopting!”

Happy National Dog Day!!

National Dog Day is an annual event celebrated on August 26.

National Dog Day was established in 2004 by animal advocate & pet and family lifestyle expert Coleen Paige.

The aim of the awareness day is to raise awareness about the number of dogs that are currently in rescue centres and encourage the adoption of these animals.

Meet 10year old “Desi” and mom

“I had a cat for 18 years. A year after she passed, I was ready for a new experience and wanted a dog. And I definitely wanted to rescue a dog. I went to Miami-Dade Animal Services on a lunch break. Although I was looking for a small dog, I saw Desi (f/k/a Crystal) and went back for her that night - although she was more medium- sized, she looked so sweet and ready to go to a forever home!

Most days involve no less than 4 outings- a long morning walk around Brickell, I can be seen just following her!, two drives in the afternoon (she loves being in the car!) and a short walk after dinner.
Desi’s favorite thing to do is go for Car rides!

Desi has definitely changed my life!
On one hand, she gets me active and out of the house early for our morning walk, which has been a great way for me to clear my mind before a long work day. On the other hand, I find I’m more content staying home at night and just hanging out with her.”

“Beacon is part of the U.S. gymnastics team’s efforts to prioritize emotional wellness in athletes, a topic which was pushed into the spotlight after Simone Biles dropped out of the 2020 Tokyo Games.

Though the pup isn’t able to join the team in Paris, Tracey Callahan Molnar, is Beacon’s handler and a former gymnast said “Beacon and I will be cheering our olympians on from California and hope that and hear us loud and clear all the way in Paris!”

The MVP — or “Most Valuable Pup” — has been an instrumental part of the team leading up to the Olympics, quietly sitting by trainings and Olympic trials while watching his gymnasts flip through the air.

Beacon is a therapy dog trained to give cuddles and calm nerves.

“It’s such a joy for me to see him happy and to see the joy that he gives other people,” handler Tracey Callahan Molnar said.
