It’s Give Miami Day! 🎉 Since 1987, the PRSA Miami/Ev Clay Endowment Fund – the largest of any PRSA chapter in the country – has awarded close to $400,000 in scholarships to nearly 200 deserving PR and Communication students from across South Florida. Proud moment for PRSA Miami 👏! The diligent work that PRSA Miami is doing in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion space has not gone unnoticed. Last week, we proudly received our recognition plaque at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Chapter DEI Awards in October! 🏆

A huge shoutout to our DEI Committee, Annette Malkin for her committee work and Carthy Frye-Thomas, M.A., for submitting the application, and Darling Jarquin for leading our programming efforts. Through diligent research, we reviewed national initiatives, adopted best practices, and built targeted partnerships. Our focus has been on fostering an inclusive internal culture and supporting our members’ professional growth, benefiting the diverse Miami PR community.

🎉Some of our notable objectives included:
• Partnering with local organizations that champion DEI
• Ensuring diverse representation in our programming
• Boosting social media engagement
• Enhancing chapter programming and engagement through partnerships and events.

With profound sadness, the PRSA Miami Chapter shares the news of the passing of our PRSA member, Roshana Gossoff, who left us on May 21, 2024.

Roshana was a remarkable communications professional who approached her work with unwavering dedication and pride.

A strong advocate for education and philanthropy, Roshana contributed her time and expertise as a board member of the PRSA Miami Chapter, where she also led the College Relations committee, and supported students transitioning into the field of communications.

Roshana’s academic achievements include a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a master’s degree in Global Strategic Communications from Florida International University. Her legacy of passion and commitment will forever inspire us.

During this challenging time, our heartfelt condolences go out to Roshana’s family and loved ones. 🕊️
