2 DJs, 3 musicians, 2 photographers, and a wedding planner walk into a bar...lol jk about the bar part (funny visual though) but we all walked into and had the pleasure of working at this charming venue to celebrate the wedding of Ale Alejandrrrro (Lady Gaga reference) and Sara Smile (Hall & Oates reference). This was a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception package, and majority of guests flew in from Minnesota and Nicaragua ready to celebrate with the bride and groom, and celebrate they DID!! Even the Guest DJ Lloyd (2 DJs playing at the same wedding was a FIRST for me in all the years I've been a DJ, but he was a friend of the groom and wanted to make it special for his buddy) was cool. We complemented each other's music vibe AND complimented each other on our sets. It wasn't a Me vs. Lloyd scenario, rather it was about playing the right VARIETY for the GUESTS as it always should be.#internationaldjtagteam lol. Lloyd & I had fun with it, and despite some trepidation I had in advance, modesty aside, we rocked the party!! At events like this, it's really helpful to have the Bar/Club DJ experience I have to keep the party flowin and goin especially for extended sets as was the case in this 8 hour event, and work well with other entertainers. Alejandro & Sara, their international guests, vendor team, even banquet staff all had a memorable evening indeed! Thank you Planner Danielle for hollllldin it down lol and running things smoothly. It was THREE, THREE, THREE celebrations in 1 on this really sweet gig Saturday afternoon!!! It was the surprise wedding of Maritza and Alex. They got married last year on the down low and didn't let friends and family know until this triple header on 1/28/23. Next it was the baptism of their cute adopted daughter Maribel. Very sweet story, and when they were telling the story, they and we all got verklempt. Truly heartwarming. Finally they were celebrating FAMILY and friends there who you could tell they loved and were loved in return. Ya know, as DJs we are always celebrating love regardless of the type of event where we're performing, and I can personally tell you how much love I put into this Labor of Love. It's always about showin love to the couple/client/guests, etc vs my own ego agrandizement. It feels really good! Considering it was an afternoon celebration, I was able to get em dancing alot given the generally speaking more laid back feel of an afternoon celebration. Not these folks! They DANCED!! It helps as always to have a great vendor team providing that all important synergy that happens with a good vendor team. Thank you to LET'S PARTY!
