So if you’re wondering how this is going to work here’s the deal 😆
Each rider will carry with them 4 laminated master cards. 1 for each suit. Each set of master cards will be specific to each rider. Yes, they will fit in your pocket.
Riders will stop at each dealer and draw a card. Whatever card you draw the dealer will then hole punch that card on your master card.
You will then turn in your master cards at the finish line if you don’t want to fold. Top 5 hands on each course win a prize or purse tbd.
Hey if you don’t want to play just bypass the dealers and keep on trucking!
Happy Trails!
Sheriff Dan

Did we mention registration is now open for the Mt. Davis Gravel Grinder Poker Run?

The MDGG crew is super stoked to check out Joe and Heather’s race in April! Come on out and join us, we hear it’s going to be a good one!
Happy Trails y’all!
Lisbon, Ohio the home of the Coal Country Roubaix and not for the faint of heart. Our Hundo course serves up 13K of climbing, there is a reason why every finisher goes home with a buckle. Finishing in 9hrs or 12, you still covered 100 miles. NO TIME CUT OFF, but we do have to ask you to run lights so we don't have to pull ypu due to safety if you think you will be finishing over 12hrs. You have a aid station at mile 21, 40ish and mile 68. The worst climbing is between mile 60-80 but next year Heather Lawhorn has decided to reverse, so that put the worst in between mile 20-40 . We got good reviews from our friends Garth Prosser and Matt Kretchmar but we have friends like Chris Karpowicz from Funk Bottoms Gravel and Sheriff Dan from Mt.Davis Gravel Grinder coming this year so anxious to hear their thoughts.
But we hope you join us April 26th 2025 here in Columbiana County, Ohio

As a kid growing up near the little town of Confluence, nestled in the Laurel Highlands of South Western Pennsylvania. I always took advantage of the wonderful outdoor opportunities that the area gave to me. From biking the local roads and rail trail, hiking, hunting, and rafting, I knew that it was a special place.
As an adult, I have stayed local to the area and still enjoy riding my bicycle from my home near Deep Creek Lake Maryland over to Confluence and the surrounding area. A few years ago, my good friend Fritz Kessler and I were out and about on one of these gravel roads near Confluence getting ready for the upcoming Hilly Billy Roubaix. Fritz said to me, “Dan, this route would make a great race”. You know what? I agreed.
As the year went on, I continued to ponder this idea. I continually added more and more each time I went out. Google Map here, Google Map there, and WALA! I finally connected the dots. Okay, now what? We must get them here. How? Hmm! TADA! Facebook Event. Long story short, on an early October morning in 2017, fourteen guinea pigs showed up and the rest was history.
As for the rest of this story. It is still being written. 2018 was the inaugural race with 94 hearty souls racing a race I am sure they will not soon forget. In 2019 we had 163 line up at the start with both course records being smashed! The name you ask? Just thought it made sense for this course. “Fast or not so fast”. The podium you ask? Why not? “You're either on it or in it”!
* A special thank you goes out to my family and especially my wife. Without them and all the wonderful volunteers, this thing would not be possible!
