Word One faces multiple Child Abuse Charges!!

Man Suspected in 3 Counts of Child Abuse

A Las Cruces man has been arrested and charged with three counts of child abuse.

Johnny D. Fulton, 40, of the 800 block of Jana Court, is charged with three third-degree felony counts of child abuse.

On Saturday, Nov. 28, Las Cruces police learned of child abuse allegations made against Fulton by several relatives. Investigators learned that, on three occasions, Fulton placed his hands on two children who reside in his home. The incidents were not life-threatening but were considered acts that could have endangered the life or health of the children.

Investigators interviewed the two children, ages 8 and 14, who corroborated the allegations.

Las Cruces police detectives are continuing their investigation. Additional charges are possible.

Fulton was arrested Friday, Dec. 4, and booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center where he is initially being held without bond.
