✌️😢❤️ Long post alert.. but with the year coming to an end, and other recent personal matters, I have an announcement to make but also want to take a moment to reflect back on my last year of my photography business and building my dream.
I want to start of thanking my clients and supporters over the last year in my journey to creating and growing my photography media side. This has been a dream come true to follow my passion, make something with doing what started as a hobby and into something more for myself and my family. I couldn’t have done it without you and I have loved meeting all my amazing clients and new friends through this.
I still feel so blessed to have had the opportunities that I have over the last year with getting asked to be media coverage for not only the first music festival I would be attending but also the first I would be doing anything with media coverage as well. This opened the door for me to have the honor of working with some amazing music artists and music venues as well as their promoters. I have loved and treasured the memories and friendships I’ve been making through this and it really makes me so sad that I’m having to do this. But this isn’t forever, I’ll be back ASAP and be ready to get back to capturing some amazing memories.
Also in my first full year of business I accomplished working with so many different people and so many different areas of photography.
My first ever photoshoot with the now gone camera, turned from being a fun little family shoot to a surprise marriage proposal where even I didn’t know that it was happening until I heard her cheer!! I still remember that moment and making sure to capture those key moments for them to treasure. That family session became a proposal session, and then became an engagement session.. not only that, it became the 3rd wedding I had the honor to photograph this past year and it’s been an honor to work with this couple through it all.
I was able to work with women to help them feel beautiful when they just couldn’t see it themselves again. I showed them their natural beauty in just the right light and natural comfort.
I worked with families that had never had family photos together and the parents become so nervous about the kids. That is until I ask them to let the kids guide the way and I find ways to capture the families pure natural joy and togetherness. We all have fun and make memories together. These are relationships that I’ve treasured.
I’ve worked with families expecting their new little ones soon, and I’ve captured them during maternity, when they really don’t usually want to do the session because they aren’t feeling beautiful.. I convince them that they are and when they see the photos the smiles on their faces have made me so happy to see. I remember wanting maternity pictures, I just couldn’t afford it, so many of these sessions I’ve done just because I wanted those woman to have that beautiful feeling that I maybe missed at moments. But also to look back and remember how beautiful pregnancy is.
One of those sessions, blessed me with a beautiful family that gave me the opportunity to cover my first booked wedding. The couple that I did the wedding for was absolutely amazing and I feel so blessed to have had them come into my life when they did. They are a family that I see always exchanging those Christmas cards with, or getting together now and again.
Through doing family sessions with friends, and doing them just because I wanted them to remember their memories, I was blessed with my next wedding booking. This family was amazing as well and made me feel so honored and even made me cry at times with how welcoming and caring they all were and how while I was there I was their family. We had a blast and I’m honored they wanted to work with me based on the previous work they’d seen I had done.
I then had the honor to work with mommas and their newborns. Let me tell you, this was such a heartwarming and beautiful experience. I got to hold and witness the beauty of so many newborns this past year. Boys, girls, and even twins!! 💞 I’ve then followed those newborns to different milestones, watching them grow and noticing every detail because of doing their pictures.
I love making people laugh and catching those candid moments. Hearing different stories as were waking through a session. Making friendships that have been some of the best ones I’ve had.
I reached out to someone about doing a birthday party for Bishop and that turned into having an amazing experience this Christmas with setting up a studio, doing a Christmas event with an option of Santa thanks to a good life long friend.. but better than that, met an amazing person whom when we met for the first time we said we were definitely going to be friends, and we have haha. So I’m blessed for that as well.
😢 NOW here’s the hard part:
It saddens me to write this, but unfortunately due to personal matters, I have been forced to put a hold on this business/dream for the time being and cannot accept new bookings or take photographs for a while. I’m truly sorry for those who I’ve spoken with regarding sessions for this coming year and hope to work with you down the road.
Any sessions already completed will be finished and galleries will be delivered as promised, I just cannot take new bookings for the foreseeable future.
This is a speed bump in my path, but I have faith that one day this dream can again become a reality and this business will be back up and running. Thank you again to all those for your support and encouragement.
☮️✌️❤️🙏 …if you’re still reading this, thank you for taking the time to hear what I wanted to say, you truly have no idea how much that means. I hope to work with everyone again ASAP‼️
