Tucked Away
Tucked away from those who can easily find it, I keep what's important to me. It's not something I would ever risk or brag about. It's not anything I would compare to anything you might have. It quietly disappears under the radar so that it remains a part of who I am. If it's ever noticed, I will play it down like it would not be worth your time. So I protect it. It has become the innermost strength of my being. At least for my time here. A reminder of what value is to me and how I might pass that on to those I love.

In winter, the Gators come out during the day to warm their blood in the sun so they can hunt at night. Their metabolism is slowed way down by the cold water. Not only can they not move fast, their brains don't work well 'til they warm up. This 10 footer grabbed my attention, as I thought it had blood in it's mouth. Turned out, it was the last rays of the sun illuminating it's pink tongue. Brazoria County, Texas.
