Thanks to the support of American Heart Association, every baby born in Tennessee is now screened for congenital heart defects before leaving the hospital, helping detect heart conditions that affect over 40,000 newborns each year. Here's a preview of the Open Your Heart video that we made for the Centennial Midsouth Go Red for Women event last week, which raised over $700,000. Congrats American Heart Association - Tennessee!

Exciting news! We have been selected as a 2024 Finalist for the Evident Change Just Society Awards for our 'What We'll Never Know' project. This short film made a festival run before we created a landing page and released it to the public. The goal: get laws changed across the country. And guess what? We're excited about this for many reasons, including the fact that this project helped get a law changed in Tennessee (passed unanimously in March of this year). And we hope it continues to inspire change across the country!

Evident Change is proud to announce the 2024 Media for a Just Society Awards finalists. The Media for a Just Society Awards are given in the categories of book, film, journalism, media by a person who is incarcerated, podcast/radio, television/video, and youth media.

When doctors told Robert Mayweather there was nothing they could do to relieve the “pure misery” caused by a hernia and colostomy, he lost more than his quality of life – he lost his sense of hope. That changed when Robert met Dr. David Shibata at Regional One Health Cancer Care. Dr. Shibata offered the expertise and experience to perform the complex surgery.
