Blues City Animal Rescue Blues City Animal Rescue is a foster-based dog rescue organization located in Memphis, TN, serving the Midsouth, Midwest, and New England.

Our mission is to help foster, nurture and care for unwanted dogs and puppies until they can find their chance at a new, wonderful life. Blues City Rescue is a not-for-profit rescue program whose primary purpose is to relocate dogs and puppies from the rural south to the Midwest and New England, where overpopulation is not as dire. Our goal is to help clear crowded shelters in the south, help dogs

who have been dumped, dogs with medical emergencies…if a dog needs help in any way we do our best to get them the care they need. The goal is to place as many dogs and puppies in new homes where they will have the most wonderful lives and become part of a new family. Blues City Rescue is entirely volunteer based. All of our adoptable animals are in foster homes until they find their perfect adopter. All dogs come from various backgrounds – abuse, neglect, homeless, injured, unwanted, unloved, scared, alone – but they are all given the necessary love and attention they need while they wait to find their fur-ever homes. Blues City Rescue transports and travels to the Midwest all the way to New England via RescueVet transport several times per month to transport our adopted animals to their new homes.

✅✅✅UPDATE!! Truly amazed at the outpouring of love and support for this little family of 5. We have secured fosters for the doodle, the lab, the white and deaf Pyrenees and the Aussie , Gracie. Another rescue is working to secure a foster for Riley!! Thank you ALL!!!!!!

Y'all . We were just made aware of a devastating situation. And we want to share it with you because we KNOW that there is a family out there willing to open up their home to foster one of these poor unfortunate misplaced souls .
Recently there was a murder su***de in a town in Mississippi. The husband killed his wife then himself, leaving behind a very young daughter and 5 dogs who have no idea what's happening because now they are at the shelter 😢 we have found fosters and / or placement for 3 but we need help with the remaining 2. Maise is approx 50 lbs ( in desperate need of a grooming ) and HW+. Riley is an Aussie and she is also HW+ both very very child and dog friendly . We will cover the heartworm treatment but we cannot commit to them without a place for them to go. PLEASE...... HELP US a GIVE THEM THE ENDING THEY DESERVE

1. How many dogs (of your own) do you have?
2 dogs (Murphy & Ollie) 🐶🐶

2. How long have you been fostering?
Started fostering Dec 2024.

3. What’s your favorite thing about fostering?
Favorite part about fostering is watching a dog start to accept your love, trust you, and always want to be near you.

4. What’s the hardest part about fostering?
Hardest part of fostering is saying goodbye at times, but it’s worth getting to see how happy the adopters are to bring them back to their forever home.

5. What do you like to do for fun?
Our family likes to take small spontaneous trips, play lots of board and card games, attend Grace Valley Church, and spend time with our many extended family members.

6. Fav restaurant in Memphis?
Our favorite restaurant in the Memphis area is Coastal Fish Company.

Meet Bess!

Bess is a sweet and gentle 1-year-old English Setter/Springer Spaniel mix, weighing about 30 lbs. She has come a long way in building her confidence and is blossoming into a wonderful companion. She walks perfectly on a leash, loves her crate, and even knows how to use a dog door!

Bess gets along well with other dogs. Her foster family has multiple dogs, and she is doing perfectly fine with all of them. She is currently finishing her heartworm treatment and will be ready for her forever home in just a couple of weeks.

Our sweet foster pup, Boots, is in Washingtonville, NY, but she urgently needs a new home! Her current family can’t keep her due to their senior dog, and we’re hoping to find her a loving place nearby so she doesn’t have to endure another 17+ hour trip back to Memphis. She has less than a day before transport leaves!

If she returns to Memphis, she will still need a foster home‼️

‼️🚨Otis desperately needs a foster so we can get him out of an overcrowded shelter to give him the chance he deserves ‼️🚨 Meet Otis 👋🏼 We think Otis is Great Dane/Catahoula mix. He has the most impeccable coloring. 😍 Otis is about 4 years old. He is STUNNING. This is Savannah meeting him for the first time - you can see his demeanor. He’s a pretty calm dog. (See comments for additional videos) Otis was found under a trailer held up by cement blocks with nothing to eat….& YES people were living there. Otis has no front door due to his horrible owners. 😡 We would love to help Otis but we meet a foster for him 🙏🏼He is fully vaccinated & fixed.
