Sounds of Memphis began in 1962 by Gene Lucchesi - the original home (XL/Pen Records) to Sam the Sham & The Pharaoh’s, “Wooly Bully” - which houses a fantastic collection of vintage gems from the ‘60s & ‘70s. was formed by our current president Linda Lucchesi, expanding the existing SOM catalog with authentic ‘80s Pop/R&B tunes to contemporary genres from the last three decades.

Hailing outside Memphis in Jackson, TN, soul sensations The Jacksonians (later as & Co.) began backing local artists in the late 60s & after dabbling w/a label in Cleveland, returned to the bluff city signing on with MGM/ in ‘73. While only one 45 was released, several unreleased tracks were resurrected on various Ace Records' SOM compilations in the 2000s, including “I’ll Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know” – just as sultry, silky smooth as Donny Hathaway’s original. 😍👏🎤

Our perfect Nancy is ready to find her happily ever after, with her lovely Fancy, of course 🐾
Just before St. Patrick’s day, Nancy arrived at
our rescue along with her husband, Fancy Francis. Very pregnant at the time, they welcomed three adorable sons, Patrick, Ian, and Sean on the lucky day. 🍀 The puppies are looking for their forever homes, as well.
Nancy is just 5 pounds and their father Fancy Francis is only 7 pounds. They must find a home together!
