If you have any car audio questions. Ask me. I’ll do my best to help you. I won’t make fun of you or repost our conversations for laughs. I ain’t saying I know everything just saying if you respect me enough to ask I’ll respect you enough to do my best to answer or put you with people who like me will take your questions seriously. Idc if it’s a “stupid” question or a smart one. Idc what brand you wanna use, I’ll still answer you. I will never tell you “to google it” Idc if you need to ask it 10 times to understand it. I will never make you feel bad for looking for the right answer.

I hear all the time that amplifier dynos are not real world so they are useless. Dyno tests are not real world tests. Hopefully no one thought they were since we can all see them being performed somewhere inside in an indoor environment. Pretty easy to know it’s not in a car, right? Look at it this way, is a car dyno a real world test? Are those useful? Of course they are useful.

Repeatable controlled tests are extremely important especially in an industry that has a history of not being upfront about actual performance. The comparative nature of a dyno test is more than helpful, I say it’s invaluable. I am going to list 7 reasons why dyno tests are helpful. Hoping this helps someone understand why I do them and why we need to keep doing them. Please stop by Bass Dad TV on YouTube to see more content about amp dyno tests!

1. Controlled Testing Environment: An amplifier dyno provides a controlled environment to measure performance metrics like power output, distortion, and efficiency without the variables present in real-world scenarios. This allows for consistent and repeatable results.

2. Baseline Measurements: The data obtained from an amplifier dyno serves as a baseline for evaluating performance. This is crucial for understanding how modifications, settings, or different amplifier models affect output.

3. Performance Characterization: By measuring key parameters like RMS power, peak power, and total harmonic distortion under controlled conditions, users gain insights into how an amplifier will perform. Although these results may not directly reflect real-world usage, they help predict performance under similar conditions.

4. Comparison and Benchmarking: Amplifier dynos allow for side-by-side comparisons of different models, helping consumers and manufacturers evaluate which amplifiers deliver the best performance. This benchmarking is useful for making informed purchasing decisions.

5. Design and Development: Manufacturers use amplifier dynos during the design and testing phases to ensure that their products meet performance specifications and quality standards before they reach consumers.

6. Optimizing Performance: The data collected can help engineers and enthusiasts fine-tune an amplifier’s settings for optimal performance. This can lead to adjustments that enhance sound quality and efficiency in real-world applications.

7. Troubleshooting: If an amplifier is not performing as expected, dyno testing can help identify issues such as overheating, distortion, or inefficiency, allowing for targeted troubleshooting.

In summary, while amplifier dynos may not capture all the nuances of real-world conditions, they provide critical data that aids in performance evaluation, optimization, and development, ultimately leading to better audio experiences in practical use.

This is the very first time I ever did an amp board. I had installed tons of single amps and buddy stuff before but this was my first attempt at something nicer. It’s not perfect by any means but when I saw the picture when I was looking through my phone a little bit ago, it made me smile.

If your build makes you smile too then you did it right!

I stopped taking “free” no money products from companies because I want you all to find value in my YouTube reviews. I want you to know that you can trust what I am saying and that nothing is influencing me behind the scenes. I don’t feel like I can be impartial when companies are sending me expensive products to keep. I also don’t want to work on anyone else’s timeline. I want to be able to show you the products I think are worth seeing. I am definitely not bashing anyone who does take products. That is not my intention. They have probably figured out how to do it better than I have. For me though I ain’t doing all of this work for a free amplifier or other gadget. I am doing it because I want to be the best at what I do!
Nothing more and nothing less…

Got this and 2 10 inch XTR’s from the same time period for $60 on marketplace locally. Amp does come on and work! Seems to be in good shape but does need the female molex connector for the speaker wires.
