The National Park Service is crushing it at social media, so we took some time to analyze (read: scroll through and laugh hysterically at ... ) their posts.
Here's a breakdown of a few things they're doing right!

> HUMOR. Humor humanizes a "stuffy" government entity and creates connection with the audience.

> VOICE. Post captions are consistent and build on the brand identity.

> TRENDS. The NPS seamlessly incorporates trending memes, movie quotes, and pop culture references that resonate with their target audience.

> ORIGINALITY. All of the photos, captions, and graphics posted by the NPS are unique. This is probably the most important takeaway, since the average person now sees between 4,000 and 10,000 pieces of content EVERY DAY!

That's why we 💚 market research, especially when it surprises us! For this survey, we took a look at the use of local biz coupons in our target market.

Takeaways:
💚 Out of 50+ responses, 90% were receptive to the idea of using coupons from local businesses (this was a big surprise; we thought it would be much lower!)

💚 Provide print AND digital options when offering coupons. Make it as easy as possible for your customer to get the benefit.

💚 Make sure your coupon provides CLEAR VALUE so your customer is motivated to use it. BOGO and BOGO 1/2 off, 10% off and $5 off coupons all polled well.

Happy ! Before you begin (or adjust) your marketing plan, be sure to give your business a quick check-up!

Be VERY honest about what is working for you and what isn't. There are a TON of reasons to do this! Here are just a few:

1. Most importantly, do it to maintain your sanity as a business owner. Owning a business is really hard (we cry about it at least once a week); be sure you're taking care of yourself!

2. Do it to find out what is truly serving you, and what might be better to hand off to someone else with a different skill set. For us, filing taxes definitely falls into this category 😂. For you, it might be updating a website, writing snappy social media copy, or taking product photos.

It's OKAY to outsource so you can focus your energy on the work you truly love and enjoy! Really!

3. Do it to determine how much time and money you have to spend on future marketing efforts.

4. Do it to create a solid foundation for the future. When your marketing efforts begin to gain traction and you're getting a ton of new clients, the LAST thing you want is for your systems to fall apart!
