What started 3 years ago with a few moving dollys and some $5 used soap drums has now turned into a tradition I’m so proud of. Every year our parade float gets bigger, brighter, and more merry, and I promise this year will not disappoint!! Check back in tomorrow as I finish the train and let me know in the comments what you think this year’s theme is?!?!

On Christmas Day over 200 children will enter foster care. Over 400,000 children will spend the holidays in an unfamiliar place, often going without gifts. So I teamed up with to ensure that every child in foster care has gifts for the holidays. I hope everyone has Happy Holidays, and remember that you are special and you are loved.

And the countdown to our 2025 Christmas Parade continues! This was last year’s parade float and was year 2 of a tradition that I hope lasts forever! Don’t let this video fool you. This little Polar Express took me 3 long days, 2 smashed fingers, 20 sheets of plywood, and a whole lot of Christmas spirit. And what you didn’t see is that 2 hours before the parade it came down to the wire, our generator quit working, the mower exhaust broke, and it started dumping rain, but we didn’t let that stop us. Because there was a dream that needed to be made... To be 7 years old in a parade with all your friends and family handing out chocolate in a city you love... Does it get much better than that? Stay tuned for this years float coming soon….

This was three years ago when we entered the parade for the first time ever. If you couldn’t tell, it was pouring rain all day. I waited until the last second to whip this parade ā€œfloatā€ together. The tents I borrowed flew away three times in the wind, one of them broke, the paint wouldn’t dry because it was too cold, and I was soaked down to my underwear all day. I had planned to draw eyes on the reindeer, add more lights, bells, and red tinsel, but the day moved too quick and this was what we were left with. All that aside, 20 of my daughter’s friends showed up to the parade and got to walk/ride, hand out candy, and make our city smile. Somehow we made it as the center photo in the newspaper and got second places for ā€˜Best Christmas Spirit’ (I didn’t even know there was a competition) All that to say... it was worth every second! Next year will be even better! And just like that, a new tradition was made! Merry Christmas everyone! Stay tuned for the parade video of last year next!!!

Our kids may not realize yet how lucky they are… but I do.

I know someday our kid will figure out that their mom is the coolest, kindest, most amazing person on this planet. And I pray they find someone who loves them as much as I love her. šŸ¤

This was last years 6 hours, 3,500 Christmas lights, 5 sheets of plywood, 3 rolls of tape, 2 rolls of wrapping paper, and a really slow drive to the parade. After building The Polar Express parade float, I realized I needed somewhere to store enough chocolate for 3,000 people, so the day before the parade I decided to toss this together! Thankful for an amazing community that puts on these fun events for my friends and family to be apart of! (Also that guy hanging from my roof is supposed to be me as Christmas decor)
