You may have noticed that the front page of this week's edition of The Oceana Echo lacked a little bit of color. Don't worry, it wasn't a printing error!

We need your help to bring the color back into our logo as part of our Lead this Legacy fundraising campaign. Each week, we'll gradually add color back in to reflect the generous donations we've received from the community. In turn, all of our donors will be acknowledged in the paper (read the top of our latest issue to learn more)!

Bringing a free newspaper to the community is something we've loved doing for the past 15 months, but we need your help to keep pushing this train down the tracks.

Please consider donating to our cause. All checks can be made out to Echo Publishing Inc.

Check out the New Era Farmers Market today, located at 1820 Ray Ave. in New Era, from 4-7 p.m.
S.G. Wood will perform from 5-7 p.m. Wood is originally from Detroit and is now living in Tampa, Fla. He is an award-winning singer-songwriter with a new album coming out early next year. His music is an Americana mix of Folk, Country, Rock and Bluegrass, served up on an old Gibson Flat Top guitar.
S.G.'s style is both aggressive and gentle, conveying a full spectrum of emotions and serving up musical stories of love, heartbreak and the light and dark adventures of humanity. He's fond of his time playing in THE HUMMINGBIRDS and credits it for being an amazing period of musical growth that led him to where he is now as a solo artist and the frontman of a new band, DUDE WATERS, featuring some of the best musicians in the Tampa Bay area.
His music can be heard in several movies, and he has opened shows for the likes of Paul Thorn, Son Volt, Dave Alvin, The Kentucky Headhunters and more.
Organizers will be offering several different programs throughout the market. Kids Power of Produce Club meets from 4-5 p.m. and will feature a story read by Sarah Shaner, a petting zoo provided by Oceana 4-H Club and drawings for prizes. Along with their very own tokens for $4 to purchase produce. An MSU Extension “Discover MI Fresh 2024” class will feature the recipe for kale, potato and white bean skillet. Take-home bags with ingredients and vouchers for produce will be provided. Come on out and see what New Era Has to offer.
