Storms cause flooding
What a difference a few hours make! Our previous videos posted around 11 a.m. were shot from Pepper Branch Park showing a rising river. Pepper Branch Park is now inaccessible, completely under water from the rising Barren Fork River. For more storm and flooding coverage, see Fridayโs Southern Standard.
Storms sweep state
We hope everyone is doing all right after a night of severe storms which swept across the state. Please use caution as waters continue to rise. Many roads have been washed out or are under water. As of 10 a.m. Thursday, the road to Pepper Branch Park began taking on water, leading officers to block it and to encourage people to evacuate the park.
If you have storm damage to report or pictures of the damage to submit for possible publication, please do so here and include the location. Thank you and stay safe!
