This year Sage’s DEI committee supported Martha’s Table for a winter clothing drive! Martha’s Table is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting children, communities, and families by increasing access to education, health, and family resources.

Sagers donated ten bags of clothing for the drive this year, directly supporting children and families who shop at Martha’s Outfitters, a no-cost boutique.

Last week was Sagegiving – our annual tradition to celebrate the holidays as a team!

We had a wonderful time enjoying delicious food and each other’s company at our office, while competing in some fun holiday games. Sagers from out of town traveled to attend the event, and it was so nice to be reunited.

Thank you to everyone who participated! We’re so grateful to have a team full of creative, dedicated and kindhearted folks.

Earlier this month Sage attended the March of Dimes Heroines of Washington Awards Gala. This event honors and recognizes women in the D.C. Metro Area for their dedication to community service. This year Sage was honored to nominate Dr. Kader Gümüs, who was recognized as an award finalist.

We're honored to announce that our team received two MarCom Awards for their work with USDA Food and Nutrition Service and the DC JazzFest. 👏🏆

The DC JazzFest team was awarded platinum for its work developing a unique logo to celebrate and promote the 20th anniversary of DC JazzFest. The new logo was designed to be used in advance, onsite and post-event and provided the ideal match to the energy and vibe of the festival that drew records to the Nation's Capital.

USDA FNS' BPA supports various FNS initiatives, including the National School Lunch Program. Sage's USDA FNS team received gold for its efforts in helping celebrate National School Lunch Week 2024. Sage ideated and produced three one-minute illustrative videos highlighting students' favorite school meals, each featuring voiceovers from real students.

Last week, we celebrated Halloween by painting mini pumpkins in our office!

Spooky season is here, and so are those pesky writing “ghouls” that love to haunt communications professionals.

Here are a few classic slip-ups that can sneak up on even the best of us:

🕸️ Passive voice lurking where strong active voice belongs
👻 Jargon that makes readers poof—disappear
💀 Run-ons that just won’t quit (scary, right?)
🧛 Subject-verb disagreements that drain the life from your message

Sometimes all it takes is a second look and a little polish. What’s your go-to trick to keep those writing ghouls away?
