The BlackteaBrownsuga Network

The BlackteaBrownsuga Network The BlackTeaBrownSuga Network is a Video and Audio Production network that focuses on connecting med " A community needs a voice,... and if I don't who will.."

With that single thought, BlackTeaBrownSuga was born. The persistence of that thought and the power it gives to the people that have it have grown BlackTeaBrownSuga into the Non-Profit LIVE streaming network that it is today. Champions of "the People's Voice", the BlackTeaBrownSuga Network is a media platform for the black community to discuss issues and events on a variety of weekly live shows,

share creative content and grow and learn together for the good of the whole community. The BlackTeaBrownSuga Network (BTBSN) recognizes that community development starts with us: its' members. We all experience life differently, so our shows' topics and and content try to reflect that. Through Live interaction with our hosts and other viewers we facilitate a respectful exchange of perspective, and hope to broaden our understanding of each other and the world we live in. The BlackTeaBrownSuga Network (BTBSN) seeks to empower members of the community to challenge and correct injustices, whether they be social or judicial, community wide or personal. The BTBSN seeks to give members of our community the , resources, knowledge , and confidence to be pro-active, change-makers. We aren't experts, and we won't claim to be. We are everyday black and brown people that want to change the way our community and our people are represented and discussed one person and one conversation at a time. Motto: The People's Voice

Mission: To educate, inspire, and equip the community with knowledge and skills needed to achieve success. Success isn't about where you're at, it's about where you're going and
BlackTeaBrownSuga is planning on moving the community up. The community needs a voice , and if we don't lend ours, who will?

What song is Patti LaBelle singing to Aretha Franklin here? šŸŽ¤ I love moments like this because music is such a huge part of my life and everything I do. Itā€™s more than just soundā€”itā€™s a connection, a form of expression, and a way to bring people together. What does music do for you? How does it move you? šŸŽ¶ Let me know in the comments!

This next clip is one of the closing songs we did togetherā€”"Put It on Me" by Ja Rule, Lil' Mo, and Vita. Funny story: this was the first song I ever held hands and skated with someone to when I was a kid! šŸ˜„ It was such a vibe, and Iā€™m truly grateful for the night and all the people who came out to support these youth. Special shoutout to the parents, families, and community members who showed they care. šŸ’›

Also, a big shoutout to DJ Eddie, making his debut! I worked with Eddie over the summer, teaching him how to DJ, and he absolutely nailed it. As soon as this song ended, he had the next track ready to go. Thatā€™s what I love to see! šŸ™ŒšŸæ Shoutout to Big Eddie!

Itā€™s moments like these that remind me how much I love bringing people together through music and creativity.

Hereā€™s a clip of me practicing "Must Be Nice" by Lyfe Jennings on the keys, with the room joining in. Lyfe Jenningsā€™ album got me through some of the toughest timesā€”coming out of high school, going to college, dealing with breakups, hardships, and losing my mom. This song has always held a special place for me. šŸ’›

Big shoutout to Lyfe Jennings for making music that helps people heal and get through the hardest moments. šŸ™

Throwing it back to an unforgettable 90s night at our old studios with this impromptu jam session! šŸŽ¹ Iā€™m on the organ, and Margaret is bringing it with her vocalsā€”one of those magical moments where everything just clicked.

Weā€™re building something even bigger! A 24-hour service base in McKees Rocks on Helen Street, launching events in January 2026. If youā€™re interested in partnering or collaborating, reach out! Weā€™re looking for people to join us on this journey.

Throwing it back to when Visuals by Ishara and I teamed up for one of our first commercials at The BlackteaBrownsuga Network ! We shot this for local artist Leaky Faucet as he dropped his debut album . This project really showed us what we can do together and set the stage for future collabs. Be sure to check out Battle Scars on all streaming platforms and experience the raw emotion behind his music! šŸŽ§šŸŽ¤

šŸŽ¹ From the September 19 Open Mic and Karaoke Night Hosted by Aaleah šŸŽ¤

This moment means so much to me. On that night, I was practicing singing and playing the keys, something Iā€™ve been teaching myself to help deal with everything going on in my life. But when my anxiety hit, I started to pull back. Then the magic happened. The people around me didnā€™t leaveā€”they stayed, sang with me, and together, we created something beautiful. We all felt it. Thatā€™s the power of community and music. šŸ’›

Now, weā€™re facing another challenge, but itā€™s also an opportunity for us to come together. Our electricity is off while we wait for finances to clear, and with the storm affecting call and processing centersā€”and Monday being a holidayā€”the banks wonā€™t reopen until Tuesday. We need to raise $500 today to keep this creative space open and continue our work with BTBSN and BTBSN Jr., researching cognitive poverty through music and media.

Iā€™m asking for your support. If this moment touched you, please consider donating or sponsoring this video for $100. Every bit helps us stay on this path and keep sharing moments like this.

Itā€™s been over a month since the Soul-Rox Fesztival, and weā€™re still buzzing from the energy and support of the community! We want to give a huge thank you to all of our incredible performers, vendors, sponsors, and supporters who helped make the event such a success.

As we reflect on this milestone, weā€™re proud of BTBSNā€™s impact over the past 6 years. Weā€™ve enriched our communityā€™s cultural landscape with dynamic showcases, media projects, and exhibitions, while providing artists with valuable opportunities for growth and advancement. Our youth programs have helped reduce violence by offering expressive outlets and mediation, and through Club BTBSN Jr, weā€™ve fostered a secure environment that builds confidence and nurtures healthy relationships among young creatives.

Weā€™re looking ahead and inviting businesses, partners, and individuals to support the future of BTBSN. Your sponsorship can help us continue empowering artists and shaping the next generation of young creators. Contact us today to learn how you can be part of this journey!

Letā€™s keep the momentum going!

"The BlackteaBrownsuga Network is a multimedia research and community organization that uses music, media, and mental health support to help individuals overcome barriers in their lives. We provide a safe, welcoming space for all ages:

Our after-school program offers a drop-in space for youth to collaborate, develop media and production skills, and showcase their work.
Evening clubs allow creatives of all ages to exchange stories and build community.
Weekend events offer adults a place to connect, reflect, and express themselves freely, away from the demands of daily life.
Our Creative Apprenticeship Program provides individualized support, professional development opportunities, resources, and space for creatives of all ages.
We also offer emergency financial support to creatives in need.

Since 2019, over 200 creatives from all over Pittsburghā€”including myselfā€”have found a supportive space to decompress, create, and grow. This "third space" has nurtured us holistically through conversation, accountability, and programs that foster empathy and self-love.

BTBSN is open over 160 hours each month and offers 24-hour mental health support resources. Your donation will go a long way in helping us reach our goal:

$7.15 sponsors 1 hour of operations.
$28 sponsors 4 hours of media skill-building and safe drop-in space for up to 8 youth.
$57 sponsors a full day of community programming for all ages.
$114 covers a week of youth programming.
$1,710 sustains a month of operations at our lounge."
